    Wait... what?!

they all do it and without a hint of irony. i love it when it happens and the crowd doesn't react to the bait.

big mistake by bernie fanning to slag off wellington at big day out 2005. he wasn't speaking to an auckland crowd. he was speaking to a new zealand crowd.

2011: year of the rich fans.
There's lots more things I'd rather spend the money on, but I guess you're right. Still, there's a part of me that says it's silly to throw the money away on the trip, but the other part knows I'll regret it if I don't.

it would actually financially fuck me up really bad. as much as i'd love to see him live, i'm not spending my savings on a concert. plus i'm still only 5 months into my mortgage... i'm at that place where for the 8000 odd bucks i've paid so far, my mortgage has only reduced by about 150 bucks.
Sucks, huh? My advice is not to look at the numbers. It's just depressing and it doesn't get much better for a long time.

i really do feel bad for you guys - i never meant 'oh just come on over, blow the expense' i just mean, who ever does come, you'll feel welcome and helped out as much as possible.

i cant really afford this either - even in my own country. i guess i just live by the 'live in the moment' rule. the $ always turns up eventually.

my "no big thing" comment wasn't directed at you - it was to the pointless response from the ten club 'hope you can make it to one of the oz shows".

the shows may as well be in america for the accessibility they provide to some of us.

this all gives me a new found respect (or an enhanced respect) for the those kiwi musicians that tour in nz and sometimes in aus at a personal loss to themselves. and they do it because they love it. not to make money. not that i expect ed to do anything for free, but i mean... cmon.

Yeah its hard for nz bands. I went and saw Elemeno P a few years back and hung out backstage with them, they said they made virtually NOTHING at the shows, maybe 20 bucks each if they were lucky. But they still tour and they were nice enough to let me hang backstage with them twice just cause I asked nicely

There is no way that I can afford the tickets tomorrow when they go on sale. I am just really hoping that there are some left when I can afford next year. My best friend is getting married in Adelaide in April but hasn't set a date yet - seeing as I am definitely going to her wedding it would be awesome if I could tag on seeing Eddie too. I would be gutted if she gets married at the end of April and I miss out...

I would say there is next to no chance of there being any tickets left for this next year. You might be able to pick up someone's spares (which is probably what you meant).

Nah not a spare. Would love to take my bestie. Will be in better state in new year financially for tickets, what with Christmas and my daughters birthday this month, and I don't have a credit card - only Visa debit. Fingers crossed!!!!

    Well that sucks.

By then I would have joined a band and will be hopefully touring with bands like Pearl Jam haha :D
Seriously though I'm not joking, I practise guitar all day and the only thing i want to do is be a sucessful musician

  • Gore? Screw Gore. If they are such good mates with Neil, they should play Te Awamutu. I reckon they could sell out the Rose and Thorn pretty easily.

Actually, a nationwide pub tour would be pretty rad.

"Hello, it's great to be here with you in Motueka tonight..."
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.
