Pearl Jam have been the band with the most songs in the yearly Rock 1000 for a few years now. Eddie usually has the second most songs of any musician on there.
And that's only because Dave Grohl has been in Nirvana, Foo Fighters and played with a bunch of others (QotSA, Tenacious D etc)...

    New Zealand loves Pearl Jam

    PLEASE COME BACK HERE

And not in 11 years!!! Cause by then I'll be like... in my 20's. Scary

Let's not forget the Finn Connection - Ed loved Split Enz as a youngster - the "other" uncle neil - liam - that mt smart was mighty full 27/11/09....

plus, I think comparatively, we kiwis have quite a presence on these boards

    which proves our point

cmon Ed, it'll be fun! promise!

remember last spring pearl jam? remember when you came back to nz after an excessively extended absence? remember how good it felt to be back on the shores of aotearoa? remember how much fun we all had? remember how nice it was to see neil and the family again? remember how friendly all the kiwis were?

    do ya?

    huh?

i think you should come back to new zealand - not just because it's easy enough to hop over the ditch when you visit australia (which you have done twice now without visiting nz... not that i'm counting). not just because you can slot a show or two in when you're down this way. but because we love you and have done for years and years. and because deep down inside you love us too.

wellington is lovely and sunny today.

    just sayin...

HELL YEAH!!! i agree with EVERYTHING youve said!!!!!

i'd just like to point out that it's been really sunny since ziggy went home.

and i think ed and his kids would like the red panda experience at the zoo in wellington. if he comes, i'll buy them one.
  • Wellington is actually possible, So hoping he goes there is not totally crazy, but if I asked him to come to MY town, now that would be crazy. Kaitaia dosent have much to offer sadly. Dont even have a live music venue up here. All we got is the beaches, and a couple of lame shops. No cd shop even!

I need to shift, move out of this town.
Pearl Jam Pearl Jam Pearl Jam!

I'm looking to buy a single ticket to Ed's Sydney Opera House show, PM me if you've got a spare! I don't care where the seat is! :D

ha ha. me too. i'll be in my 40s.

question for you as you live in Wellington ... i'm taking a group over to NZ in february/march to do some kayaking ... i've got a decision to make and want yours or anyone else who knows Wellington's opinion ...

Is there a shortish (1-2 hr) walking tour we can do that doesn't require us to actually pay entrance fees? ... my current itinerary is ferry crossing ... drive straight to okahune ... but i have some time i can use and am thinking of stopping in wellington after the ferry ride and maybe doing a walking tour and then driving the next day ...

any tips would greatly be appreciated!

walking tour of the city? or just anywhere? cuz there's lots of tracks around - the city is surrounded by trees.. the town belt they call it.

    http://www.wellingtonnz.com/sights_activities

not sure about any free walking tours as such... that site might help

DP's better to come back to you on this seeing she lives in Wlg & I don't but just a thought that I don't think you have to pay for entry to any places there are bushwalks in NZ.

thanks! ... i was actually on that site ... says to go up to mount victoria for some sites ... we aren't looking for bushwalks or hikes in the city ... the primary purpose is to break up what amounts to a driving day ... south island --> okahune ...

i think i'll put them on a bus tour of the city and we'll spend the night somewhere ...

you can't really get lost and any friendly passerby will help you get back to where you need to be if you do manage to lose your bearings. wellington city is so small you can walk the length of it no problem. i say just find yourself a start off point and wander. wander the waterfront... wander cuba street and the shops around there... wander down oriental bay... maybe go to te papa or the city gallery.

lots to see. if it's a nice day you'll be sweet. if the weather is a bit crap you might wanna stick to the CBD where it's sheltered. but feb/march is when our weather is it's best (though this week has been fucking gorgeous which pisses me off because ziggy doesn't believe me that it gets sunny here!)

Yeah, the weather was pretty shit while I was there....but that's good because I wanted to see shit weather....didn't want to think the weather would be lovely when it normally isn't. I'm a little bit scared of winter though. :?

it's HOT today. the weather thingees are lying and saying it's not as warm as it is. mum said it was 40 something degrees in their roof and 28 in their house.

i know. metallica came over for one extra show separately because they cared about the fans down south. the pixies came BACK months later for an extra show because they enjoyed themselves so much. surely it'd be cheaper to come to nz than it would be to travel between some australian cities.
