Listen to you poms, drop Ponting? hahah. Reality is, he is somewhat out of form. He got several good scores (without making a ton) in India, got a start and 50 odd in Bris and had a shit test in Adelaide. He is still one of the best batsman in the world and of course you poms are suggesting he be dropped cause you know what he can do. And moving to Perth where Swann will hopefully be nullified, Punter will be back in the runs.

Spinner, yes please. AS much as it pains me to say, I think Hauritz will be in. He took 5 at perth last week. I was harsh in my assessent of him. He isn't much chop,he is no swann, But he is better than Doherty.

Johnson may well come in. I don't know how he is travelling, but I think Siddle should go, Hilf in and maybe Johnson for Doug. We just need them to fire. And the WACA will prob be the right place for Johno. Just bowl fast.

Ashes legends Ian Chappell and Ian Botham have been involved in an altercation outside the Adelaide Oval according to reports.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports Botham reacted angrily as Chappell directed a jibe at him follow Australia's crushing second Test defeat at the hands of England.

The knighted Englishman and Chappell had to be separated after clashing in the Adelaide Oval car park.

"It could have got very nasty if there hadn't been people on hand to keep them apart," said a Channel Nine source who spoke to English newspaper The Mail.
Ill-feeling has existed between the pair since 1977 when they clashed at a pub after words were exchanged.

Dougie wasnt fit enough, and they may not re-select him.

Johnson he has the xfactor. We have all seen it, but of course it depends on how he has gone working on his issues. If there is no improvement, then he can stay on the sidelines.

Hilf I don't know, surely a space for him

and Harris is the only bowler from Aust guaranteed a spot I would say.

They may even go for 4 quicks and bring in Smith for North as a bit of a spinning option. Traditionally Perth is a fast, bouncy wicket.

i think broad bowled well...very well...just didnt get the wickets next to his name...but i think he helped to get a few of them for the other...


i dont think you can make big team changes...you have to let a few of these players have a run..even if you lose the next few tests..in out in out is not going to help at all.

i would get in bresnan for broad more of a bats man then tremlett and we dont need his hight either with finn bowling well.

or even yardy as a long shot

Problem is, we can't lose another test. I am all for letting people find their way. Over the past 15 years, Aust could afford to do that, cause they were finding their way in a winning team. Now it is a losing team, we can't afford that so much...

Tony Grieg was saying today he reckons they should bring in Brett Lee and Brad Hodge. I would take Hodgey.

And he also said he would take Tremett for England.

well he knows alot more then me....but with the next wicket looking fast and bouncey tremlett might be a better call...

but broad can score runs if needed tremlett gets 10 on a good day

That was a big problem with Australia's tail this test.

While I believe a bowler should be selected for his bowling, batting sure does help...

Like this is only a guess, but aussies lost their tail for a bout 20 runs combined total this test. In the past Aussies have had Warne, lee, Johnso, Hauritz all who could bat. This test they had no one. and both times England just ripped though them.

but if bowlers earned their selection through their batting, Gillespie was dropped after making a test double century.
