its so hot here. poms cant play in heat can they? please tell me they cant.
it was hot and humid for all days of the adelaide test. was 37 on saturday and cook, trott and kp went alright in it. was about 33 all the other days. i dont think the heat fazes them too much!
how about water... can they swim??? a few states are flooded atm maybe we can drown them.
steve waugh reckons the selectors should bite the bullet and stick with the younguns and give them time to develop. but what the hell would he know???

It's hard. I would like the young guns to come in. But unfortunately they need to fire straight away. Australia can't afford to lose these tests. This is the ashes after all.

well thats bullshit.. they dont have to fire straight off. thats the arrogance of australian expectation placed upon the team. they have to grow into a team. and yes australia can afford to lose these tests. and even if they cant(which they can) well it looks like theyre gonna so...

I sat up ready for a few hours and was off to bed after about 40 minutes. I even managed to make a cup of tea and miss 2 wickets. Is this the worst Aussie team ever? I wish they'd get rid of Botham from our commentary team. Such a wanker.
Not going to argue with you just yet....
Hopefully it all changes soon.
Now I am feeling what you guys did for 20 years...
The thing is we are good at losing because we are used to it.
It's a surprise if we have a good cricket or rugby team. I've never been surprised about us having a good football team because it hasn't happened yet.
Of course they have to fire straight away. Australia is 1 nil down. England only have to win 1 more test to retain the Ashes. The Ashes is the biggest prize in cricket. Even bigger than the World cup. WE can not afford to lose. Simple....
They can not afford to carry ANYONE through the next 3 test matches. Simple. No if and or buts.

i do understand your reasoning but i just get tired of people expecting teams to come bolting out of the blocks as if theres no room to maneouevre. it takes time to build a decent team. putting pressure on them doesnt make them play better. and yes i know how much it pains australia to lose to england. iv e been watching sport long enough to have seen the australian team as easy beats and as the best team in the world... so much so that we had 2 complete limited overs teams. remember when the west indies were untouchable??? i do. we just have to suck up these losses. and lets face it the poms are playing great cricket.

I don't disagree with you (at the best of times), but in this circumstance I don't agree with you.
At the moment, we're in a rowing race, 2 boats. Each with 11 men in them.
Australia have 3, 4 at best 5 people rowing
England have 9.
Who's going to cross the finish line at this rate??
No passengers, get everyone rowing...
Plus, Australia has the best first class cricket comp in the world. We have people who can do the job (besides a quality spinner) THe idea of having such a good comp is people can walk straight in and do a great job. My mind casts back to Ponting 96 on debut, M Waugh 100 on debut, North 100 on debut, Blewett 100 on debut. Krezja 12 wkts on debut, Brett lee 5 wickets on debut, Hughes 2 hundreds in his second test.

the ashes are the biggest stag in world cricket..some might not have been ready for debut or only a handfull of games played under their belts to be playing in this.
but also you have been let down by the player that should be doing better..johnson(watch him bowl well in perth now)north watson..
Good news on Jimmy. Here is hoping for England to be snowed in and he can't get out....
As for who is not rowing for England, Collingwood hasn't been THAT great. One start from 2 digs, his fielding hasnt been as good as I remember (a simple drop catch) but that one to remove Ponting the other day was sensational.
Broad has been below what he is capable of. Also, I'm not entirely confident that FInn has been rowing the whole time. Finn hasn't impressed me yet, but he looks the goods. I'm not bagging him out, but I would much rather see the ball in his hands then Anderson.
Prior hasn't been all that impressive he has been rowing a bit, not always. Not always Haddin is certainly winning that battle. Haddin, Hussey and Watson have been our best players.
As for if we lose in Perth, then I would like to see the young guys come in, and just groom them. But we got to win. Losing is not an option.
