Trott has batted well, but it reminds me of when my cricket club got a ball machine.
I went in with my nice new bat. Brand new, no cherries on it. It was my dream bat, gray nicholls English willow, beautiful piece of timber.
Anyway, I went in to face this ball machine for the first time, and not joking, I edged the first 6 balls. Edge after edge after edge. Looked down at my bat, and the edge of my bat was covered in cherries.
I have never seen a prick (Trott) get so many edges in an innings. And fuck wit Clarke drops the prick. Come on, the only other idiot who has dropped sitters like that in the slips is me. And I got moved out of there pretty quickSydney 11/02/2003

my dear dear bitter friend down under...
The records have been falling with that test and most going to the brits..ok ok you got the biggest partnership.but where do you go from here..that ground WAS your banker a home win ever time..the big one to get your series off to a flier And all possitives are point to the brits now.ok we got a below par score for the first innings..then bowled you out for a good score.but about par for that wicket...then we come in and take control from ball 2 ..we will forget the first ball of the second innings
(it was over the stumps).
top 3 batsman getting a ton...your bowlers never looking like getting a wicket...even strauss's wicket was a rush of blood and not really fought out ..
so again where do you go from here..who are you going to bring in to replace johnson as hes looking like a australia A bowler. and siddles hat trick is long forgotten.
OKOK okkkkkkkkkk the wicket was a batman dream and we might have scored 1000 runs on that ..infact i think we would have.
edit edit
Australia have bolstered their pace bowling options ahead of the second Ashes Test in Adelaide following the drawn opener with England in Brisbane.
England racked up an incredible 517-1 in their second innings to save the first Test, with none of Australia's front-line bowlers taking a wicket.
And Ryan Harris and Doug Bollinger have now been added to the XI that played at the Gabba in a 13-man squad.
Mitchell Johnson, who returned 0-170, would appear most under pressure.<img src="http://i740.photobucket.com/albums/xx46/tremors25/thefixerthrilla1.gif" align="left">

It was Monday here, we have to work.
But look that pitch turned into an absolute road. the last 7 wickets of the game fell for about 1000. Shit wicket. Bit of life with the new ball, and once that was gone it was rubbish. TBH, a great test turned into an average one, from a cricket lovers point of view. I didnt enjoy, but Cook, Trott, Strauss all batted well, and as a cricket lover, I could appreciate it, even though it was painful (a compliment I guess). Trott had his fair share of luck, but oh well. ANd Cook was out caught by Ponting, but that wouldn't have changed much.
What I was disappointed in was Strauss was a bit too defensive in the end. England could have had a good dash to finish the match. But allas, he missed the boat.
As for the new squad I think they have it wrong.
I would have had
6 Haddin
7 Smith
8 Doherty
9Siddle
10 Hilfenhaus
11 Bollinger
What is a concern here is that our tail can't really bat. Englands tail looks like it can wag with swann Broad anderson. I know they're there to bowl, but how often does the tail save you?
Also, Adelaide is a batsmans paradise. Expect the series to be 0-0 heading into Perth.Sydney 11/02/2003

never pointing fingure wide open ball touched the ground ...sorry THAT WAS NOT OUT .

also bullocks. :P he could not give you a chance to win by declaring with a lower scoreand i cant see how we could score faster ..we bowled again just gift us boost..we never never had a chance to win but if we took 5-120 then everyone would be going lucky lucky oz...but you batted it out ..only loosing one wicket .

I would have had what no johnson..

haha, please, Cook was out. The best bloke to know is the fielder. I am being dead honest, you know if you have caught it or not. He caught it. Ponting was the best man to tell, he should have given the nod to Cook and he should have gone. That is the sportmans like thing to do, but we all know the English cricket team aren't very sporting. (oooh, fightin words them are
)
But, hey, I hope at sometime during this series, Collywobbles holds up a catch and they refer and give it not out when he is adamant he caught it.
But what most good captains do is give the opposition a sniff of a win. What he should have done is instead of the target being 297, maybe 250 for 40 or 50 over. The aussies are like 'hey we have a chance we'll play some shots' but that increases the likely hood of them making mistakes, and England capitalising on it. Therefore improving their chances a win. And also would have given the Aussies a sniff.
And I know it is only one test, but Graeme Swann? My prediction is coming true.... He will enjoy Adelaide though...Sydney 11/02/2003

You are right. He was a shadow of himself in the field. Not to mention he struggled through is innings, that tells me he was limited with movement.
Also that drop catch. Inexcusable, but his movement was so limited throughout the test, and even with sitters you have to get into a good position.Sydney 11/02/2003

lets not forget mitchell johnsons dropped catch and his bowling figures were like 0 for 130 i think which is shocking. surely hes gna get sacked you cant risk playing the guy, hes outa form and this is the ashes not a test series against zimbabwe.0

I hear ya. Can be hard to be dropped from the Australian cricket team though.... unless you are Jason Krezja. And the way the Aussie team works they will probably drop Siddle. They love Johnson.
I think North will stay now cause of his alright offies. Doherty was struggling at times having to bowl to the left handers, so with North spinning away from the lefties helps. Plus, they say he is a batsman, but, i'm not too sure about that.
Put your money on a draw for the Adelaide test people.Sydney 11/02/2003
