There are so many other awesome items. I really wonder how much all this stuff(junk) is going to go for.

we should wait until the last min and then buy it. and then sell off blocks off it to forum members where the $ goes towards a nonprofit (after reimbursing whoever buys it for the original purchase price)

What good would a block of it be? Would anybody honestly want that?

    WOW!!!!!!!!!

I wonder what the actual dimensions of that thing are, easily will go for thousands of dollars. If people will spend 3 grand on the EMEK Santa Barbara 06 poster... This is much more ONE of a kind than that.

If you've got the kind of money laying around that that thing is projected to go for - sponsor a kid in Africa instead.

I want it. Someone lend me $5,000. It shouldn't be anymore than that.

The person who lends me the money will get a free picture of the banner.

this is way too ambitious, but there are places that make bags etc out of old banners (I have a purse made out of an old bumbershoot banner), wish there was a way to do that and then donate the profits to
    charity.

    that's me! I make custom bags! :)

    Check this story:

The Spectrum will not go away quietly. Lou Scheinfeld - who has spent more than a year at the doomed arena, cataloging memorabilia - says he thwarted the theft of the giant Pearl Jam banner that hung outside to advertise the final show a year ago.

Scheinfeld noticed a Facebook page on which people were plotting the removal of the 50-by-30-foot, 200-pound banner. "One guy said he would rappel up the wall, and a woman offered to drive her convertible under it," says Scheinfeld, who had the banner taken down and stashed inside the Spectrum.

    The online reaction was furious.

I dont get it myself. I work for a printers and we produce stuff like this all the time. Okay not PJ stuff :D but products like this. It would be cool to have purely cause its the Philly banner but at the end of the day its just a piece of PVC. If someone can get me the artwork I'll do one for everyone on the board

Double d'oh! I was there for all 4 night's but no way I'm gonna fork up over 2+ grand for that. If there was a donation thing from a group who would bid for it and we all get a cut from the banner, i'm done. But not 2+ grand per person. Sweet zombie jebus!
