I've always stand by my statement regarding this genre and ain't no band ever gonna chance that.Joe2TheRevenge wrote:You have a good point though. Don't appologize.
why is it that they released "Who You Are" to radio, but promoted te album on Letterman by playing "Hail, Hail"?
For some reason they have some sort of issue with releasing a "we don't give a fuck about radio play singles" to represent their album, yet still want to rock in public. What's with that? Why not just admit they want to rock the fuck out and get the whole world involved? I don't think you lose credibility by being popular, but they certainly seem to think so.
"who you are"? "Nothing as it seems"? As singles? Seriously? Come on.PJ- 04/29/2003.06/24,25,27,28,30/2008.10/27,28,30,31/2009

You can call it junk. That's fine and your opinion. I have nothing to say about that. But to say punk music has no melody or rhythm is pretty ignorant and shows in fact that you do not know what you are talking about when it comes to punk music. If you don't know what you are talking about with punk music, then no one has any reason to take you seriously about what you say about Pearl Jam.Yield!

Im not avocados biggest fan but it aint shit, just the production and some songs are a little stale, but live they really work,'The more I studied religions the more I am convinced that man never worshipped anything but himself.' - Sir Richard Francis Burton0

I only have one complaint / suggestion.
No more songs like "No More". (regardless of your political position, that song blows goats)
That song makes Evacuation seem like Stairway to Heaven.
All right. That's my negativity for the next two months. Thanks for letting me vent.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0 -

Yup...couldn't agree more. Yield and self-titled are easily the best albums....to my ears0 -

on that note, i would like to complain about the politics
i personally sit on the exact same side of the fence as Ed with all the issues, but i still wish it would just be buried already.
He's starting to sound like a broken record. Yeah yeah, corporate greed, yeah.....bush sucks. Gotcha. Can we talk about something else now? it's been YEARS!

Amen. "No More" is just cringe-inducing. Just the title of it makes me want to vomit.
I really hope they steer clear of overt politics on the next album. It's grown tiresome after the past 8 years.
And I agree with many posters here. Avocado just seems soulless to me. Just empty. I dug it when it came out, but quickly lost interest. Why? The album just had no identity IMHO.
I will say, that after making a Binaural "Original Tracklisting" mix, I am blown away at how fluid, impassioned and exploring they sounded during the Binaural sessions. The album suffers a little from the final tracklisting, but, to me, this album contains Ed at his most complex when it comes to song structure.
Riot Act was fine, but seemed only half-cooked. There was effort, immediacy, and competent musicianship, but I think the overall production killed it.
I think they need to go in an opposite direction, i.e. no more Adam Kaspar, for the next album.-PUSH ME AND I WILL RESIST!0 -

Again, all you keep doing is listing your tastes. Velvet Revolver? KoRn? Audioslave? Give me a fuckin break, I'd take RA and Binaural any day over that stodgy shit.
We get it - you dont like Binaural, RA or Avocado.

their last three studio were average with "avocado" being a piece of junk.
I just wanted to see if there are any PJ fans out there who shares the same feeling.
And there are a few who's brave enough to criticize the band then there are those who truly enjoyed the last three releases (which I don't understand).PJ- 04/29/2003.06/24,25,27,28,30/2008.10/27,28,30,31/2009
