Thought it was pretty bad. Don't think it would end up in my top 500 of the year.

I thought, after purchasing the first album, that it was nothing that interested me in the least! :D

I know this is stupid but after them apologizing for the first single off they new album b/c people didn't like it, I had no interest in buying it. I figured if they didn't stand behind their music why should I.

I personally really liked Congratulations. That, American Slang, and the Suburbs are my top three, in no particular order.

lots of love for High Violet and that is my pick as well, especially after seeing them twice thus far this year at Radio City and Terminal 5.....Gaslight Anthem's American Slang is a great alternative to High Violet with it's fun and simple straight forward approach...rock that shit going down the Jersey shore..

Top Two are American Slang (Gaslight Anthem) and Odd Blood (Yeasayer). It's unfortunate that Yeasayer came out so early this year because I think a lot of people are foregtting how phenomenal of an album that is.

I also have Brothers (Black Keys) and The Suburbs (Arcade Fire) but need to listen to them more and really absorb them before putting them in my top five.

Grace Potter and the Noctornals gets my honorable mention. She's smokin

    My 1000th post! Woohoo!
My top ten so far would be something like:

    1. Midlake - The Courage of Others
    2. Dead Weather - Sea of Cowards
    3. Hold Steady - Heaven is Whenever
    4. Gaslight Anthem - American Slang
    5. Black Keys - Brothers

    6. Quasi - American Gong
    7. Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan - Hawk
    8. BRMC - Beat The Devil's Tattoo
    9. Jack Rose - Luck In The Valley
    10. Guanaco - Sky Burials

Band of Horses and Eels "End Times" are also worth a mention, "Tomorrow Morning" should be good too. I was disappointed by Broken Social Scene and The National and the new STP is really bloody awful.

That's a tough one. I haven't been completely floored yet by any album in 2010 (2009 was a pleasant surprise though). My favorite of 2010 have been:

    Gaslight Anthem- "American Slang"
    Against Me- "White Crosses"
Minneapolis 98, Chicago 00, San Fransisco 00, Fargo 03, Thunder Bay 05, St Paul 06 (night 2), Chicago 08 (EV) both nights

    Don't it make you smile?
