I'd probably put The Suburbs at #1 right now.

Also love Brothers and High Violet.

How about Local Natives' album, was that 2010? If so, I'd put that at the top too.

I hate going with the crowd but I am going to have to say The National High Violet as well. I've listened to several good albums from this year but that is the only one that has really taken a hold of me. There are more albums to come though. I'm thinking the last half of the year will be better than the first half.

I did listen to Feeler and was pleasantly surprised. But then again it is mostly stuff they wrote 15 years ago, so it has that mid to late 90s sound that I like.

In regards to Arcade Fire, as an American with limited understanding of the Canadian language, will I still be able to enjoy their music?

    It's in English.

I hope this was a joke.

Yeah, I was too. When I first saw the tracklisting, (I knew they cut some tracks beforehand), I wasn't really sure what to expect. I really liked the way this one was produced, and the tweaks they did to a few tracks worked well, but I'm still used to the old version of "Suck magic", and "trust game". I love what they did to "city of hate" this new version is so much better, and that ending is killer. I honestly, am just so happy that "Feeler" finally got the physical recognition that it deserves, even if this is a modern version with less tracks. You can tell the band is enjoying playing these songs again, and that they know justice has finally been served for "Feeler" musically.

  • Can't say the same about Kid A, but I agree with Brothers being album of the year so far.

My runner up is The Roots "How I got Over"

I agree although I would put band of horses one ahead of The Roots. "How I Got Over" is a fantastic album.

    1.The Black Keys-Brothers
    2.Band of Horses-Infnite Arms
    3. The Roots- How I Got Over

I'm thinking you are probably right

Also, i hesitated to include Croweology in my previous list strictly because of it's lack of new material.
Otherwise it is up there, too
