Arcade Fire's "The Suburbs", probably my favorite album over the last 2 to 3 years.0

That's a tough one. I haven't been completely floored yet by any album in 2010 (2009 was a pleasant surprise though). My favorite of 2010 have been:
Gaslight Anthem- "American Slang"
Against Me- "White Crosses""All I Ever Knew" available now in print and digital formats at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and iBooks.0 -

Arcade Fire- The Suburbs
Followed closely by The National's High Violet. It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.0 -
Four posts before someone said Arcade Fire...
2009 was a killer year. I haven't been as impressed in 2010 but I'm gonna go with
Further - The Chemical Brothers - a return to something resembling their earlier work. Dropping the guest rapper vocalists helped this record a great deal. Swoon is one their best songs in years.
This Is Happening - LCD Soundsystem - Probably not everyone's cup of tea. Most songs average 7 minutes. Check out I Can Change and Home. Some of the best stuff he's done.0 -
Good 'ol Rock & Roll for me. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Mojo0
-
The National - High Violet by some distance.
The Suburbs is good, but not great. I feel it lacks the really epic tracks of previous albums (Intervention, Tunnels #1, Wake Up, Windowsill etc.). High Violet is just amazing from start to finish. It's gonna be a glorious day...0 -
My top 5 at the moment:
1. Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
2. Big Boi - Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty
3. The National - High Violet
4. LCD Soundsystem - This is Happening
5. The Tallest Man on Earth - The Wild Hunt"So, you must really love Led Zeppelin. That’s the oldest shirt I’ve ever seen on someone who wasn’t a bum."
"Hey, if God didn’t want me to wear it so much, he wouldn’t have made them rock so hard."0 -
1. Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
2. Dillinger Escape Plan - Option Paralysis0 -
1. Arcade Fire ~ The Suburbs
2. Beach House ~ Teen Dream
3. The Roots ~ How I got Over
4. LCD Soundsystem ~ This is Happening
5. a tie between Joanna Newsom ~ Have One On Me and The Chemical Bros. ~ FurtherI’ve seen Pearl Jam 25 times, Eddie Vedder 9 times, and Brad once.0 -
I guess Brothers....It's been growin on me lately, but I just don't see it bein an all time favorite of mine or anything. Been a down year so far.
STP's S/T has mostly good stuff, mixed with a couple real clunkers.0 -

Heaven is WheneverBelieve me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V0 -
I've LIKED several albums so far this year, but nothing has really really made me sit back and say WOW!
My favorites so far would have to be
Drive-by Truckers..The Big To-Do
Gaslight Anthhem...American Slang
and probably my favorite so far is
Grace Potter and the Nocturnals....S/T
Uhoh...I forgot MOJO...it has to be up there too. Great album. It might be a tie between it and GP&NAll I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow
They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all0 -
