AGREED - the "Beast" is truly the "BUM"
Darrent Williams is DEAD because of this fool...
4 domestic disturbances since 2008 w/ Mishi (his wife), including being stabbed by her last April...
    Bipolar Disorder...
Suspended by the Broncos for insubordination...
In March of last year he hit a WOMAN in the face in NY...
12 drops last year (tied for lead in NFL) - HALF were in the end zone...
Plays his way out of town on every team he's been on...

"Too bad" Miami traded Brandon Marshall??? Yeah, right... too bad Chicago was stupid enough to pay this loser who will rot this team from the locker-room to the field, like he did in DEN and MIA... Coincidence that every team he's played for has gotton rid of him? I think not...
I give it 3 years TOPS before he's run out of Chicago...

Talented w/ big play abilty? Absolutely. Head case troubled diva whose teams get better the minute he leaves the facility? You betcha. Good luck Chicago, he's all yours and this MIA fan couldn't be happier.

As a Dolphins fan, I'm kinda scared to finally see the inner-workings of this inept organization.

    AWRIIIIIIIGHT MIAMI!!!!
Cannot wait for 'Hard Knocks' - while I don't think this team is world beaters by any stretch, we have ALOT of talent - we have an infusion of smart football people, great competition at the QB position, one of the best O-Lines who will maul this year & a hungrier defense (which was really good but underperformed last year)...we will improve dramatically from last year - fist pumpin' Sparano is gonezo back to being a coordinator where he belongs (albeit w/ Jets :x )
Even the worst Hard Knocks (KC season) was fun to watch and must see TV each week...
Let the haters hate (yea you 81 - love ya buddy) - I guarantee this will be great programming.
While Ross and Ireland up close are scary thoughts - I'm hopeful this show turns my opinion of them around.
Great stuff happening in camp + HBO awesomeness = great 5 wks of Fins inside look - can't wait!

AGREED - not only will Les Brown have a hard time making the team, I hope he doesn't get someone killed for god's sake
I LOVED this episode, as a FINS fan - jacked up my team has this spotlight on HBO - haters can hate all they want (81 - love ya man, Jets fans, etc...) but as a long time fan (30+ yrs) to see our locker rooms, the fields, the cool corporate phones with the logo on the screen, how they are working so up tempo on the practice fields - man I'm psyched!!!
    Couple observations:
    --Locker rooms are kick ass
--what was the moron Dennis thinking wearing New York shit in there (granted FLA is 2/3 NY transplants, but still)
--LOVE Jake Long - he is a beast and my jersey is that much cooler - what a mauler, leader and monster
--I still don't trust Jeff "your mother is a whore' Ireland (I was waiting for him to ask Braylon Edwards the same Dez Bryant question)
--I don't get the fascination about Lauren Tannehill (sorry)
--Ryan Tannehill I'd like to see more aggressive - his sweet throw to Fasano was awesome
    --Garrard might surprise
--Moore I'm pulling for, but he's not handling the 2nd string thing too well according to Miami beat writers
    --Where was Reggie??? Next episode
--I know he's a clown, but Chad Johnson absolutely entertains me - I hope he is rededicated and looks as good as everyone says he does
--Vontae Davis is in BIG trouble - what a baby - bathroom breaks? C'mon man!!!
Can't wait for next Tuesday, off to watch last nights episode a 19th time

    Yep, sadly

Don't ya think it would be awesome to have a full season show of this? Not just this crazed Fins fan team either, any team really - it would be cool to see a team from training camp, into preseason, through the season (injuries, locker room brawls, splintering when things go south, coming together through 3 or 4 gm winning streaks, excitement for post season)... HBO just does sports so darn well, everything they do is just awesome!

I'm not a Marlins fan, but the show "Franchise" on Showtime is pretty good too...watching all the guys getting traded the last few weeks and Ozzie is a nutjob

I really enjoyed this and I really, really like Joe Philbin. Sparano was in over his head as a head coach. He said all the right things, but never really did anything right. Philbin seems to have a good, structured plan for training camp. I loved his fast paced practice that exposed Vonte Davis' lazy ass.

    Other things I took away:

-Surprised to see Garrard at the top of the depth chart. I think it should be Moore.

-Ochocinco looked pretty good running his routes...but sounded like a moron running his mouth.

-Where were Brian Hartline and Devon Bess? Didn't see them once in the episode.

--Forgot his name but #87 would make a better return man than tight end. Maybe they'll try him there. Dude has some natural gifts...but pass/run blocking is NOT one of them.

-Miami's cheerleaders put Tannehill's wife to shame.

    Things I'm looking forward to:

-Focus on the linebackers. Dansby, Wake, and Burnett have potential to be a great linebacking corp...but they aren't yet.

-What will the secondary look like when the season starts? Davis blows and I've been saying this for two years.

-Less Ochocinco, more Philbin and the coaches.

I really enjoyed this and I really, really like Joe Philbin.
What I liked about Philbin: In the QB room after announcing initial depth chart"Gonna leave on a high note, like George Costanza."
What I disliked about Philbin: going on and on to Chad Johnson about not saying the "f-bomb". Agreed that you need to represent this team like a class act, etc... but he went on and on - have some balls, man up and get right to the point. NO KID GLOVES (look where that landed Tony Sparano)
I'm rooting for Philbin, I really am. He's put together a very smart football staff and he's intent on doing things smarter, faster and maybe more thorough without playing favorites. I'm trying like heck to pull for Steve Ross, I want a winner for our beloved Fins, and I think he does too...I still can't stand Jeff Ireland - what a smug piece of poo. Maybe the next 4 episodes change my opinion of him. (Doubtful)
After watching it 74 times now, I only have one problem/challenge - I'm not a producer, writer or TV know it all - but what the heck was the point of Dawn Aponte's 'threat' of Tannehill not being a FIN this season because of how far apart the 2 sides were on the contract situation? This was filmed ahead of time and when the episode was released yesterday morning he'd only missed 2 days of practice...Between Ireland and her, no wonder people aren't beating down the door to play for this franchise.

I agree. I will actually say I enjoy The Franchise more but they are both good shows. I wonder how much incentive the city of Miami had to pay to get both shows for their teams in one season?

I loved the Constanza reference and I very much liked him telling Ochocinco how to act. He sounds like a moron saying "fuck" in press conferences. Actually he sounded like a moron every time he opened his mouth during the episode. Whether it be talking to his wife, his teammates, or playing video games with Reggie Bush. Hopefully he exceeds my expectations (which are amazingly low) but lets face it, if you can't thrive on the Patriots, where can you thrive?

As for Ireland, yeah he's been a shitty GM and Ryan Clark from the Steelers has said that he knows many players who want nothing to do with the Dolphins because of him. But at least he was right on Dez Bryant though. Bluntly asking a guy if his mom was a hooker is classless. But let's face facts: she was a hooker and she raised a loser for a son. Ireland might be a dick, but Bryant's recent attack on his mother earned Ireland some (but not many) points with me. Character matters.

Kind of surprised they listed David Girard as first on the depth chart. I'd figure that the incumbant would at least get that courtesy for the first week. Must be some motivational jedi mind trick thing.

Ocho was hilarious from a viewer perspective. I can't tell if he's an actual dumb ass or if he's really good at playing that part.

Where did Philbin do his assistant coaching?
