It is never ok to flip posters, or sell illegal items (illegal bootlegs from bootleggers, items purchased marked "not for resale", homemade CDs/DVDs, etc.)."
Thanks for this, Kat! Going to make scanning the Porch a lot easier!
One quick question...in the spirit of helping us avoid bootlegs, can you clarify as to whether or not the Into the Wild vinyl reissue that has been discussed widely on the board is official or a bootleg?

Only the ones sold through 10club are "not for resale"...if you buy it at the venue, all bets are off, so you'll be seeing poster threads in your sleep....hehehehehehe.

I knew damned well someone would mention this.....hehehehe
But I say HORSE HOOEY to this logic.......hehehehehehe
So what you are saying is.....The first 500 or so posters sold at the concert are FLIPPABLE......But the 1,000-2,000 sold on this board are not flippable?????
HORSE HOOEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, my question didn't get answered when I posted it yesterday, so here is another go:
So, my question would be: Is it ok to post links to ebay if it's an item that the auction is already over and you're wanting to brag about your buy (like someone did with a couple of posters the other day)? Also, I've done this for an item I already bought b/c I wasn't sure if it was official or not and I wanted some educated opinions? Just wondering.

Ah, no! Scored prints/thread happen on Monday (not today) & there was no eBay links in that thread. It was just links to Expressobeans only that showed what posters he scored. The thread was locked this afternoon, not deleted. I guess any thread that promotes eBay will get locked or they way you see it, deleted.

That kind of sucks in a way. I completely agree that there should be no links to promote an ebay auction or use this board as an auction house. This has been a problem that has been running rampant on here for a while now and it is clearly stated in the rules. However, I know the time I posted my link to an already over auction that I won to question the authenticity of it, I got very help info from fellow board members. So, I think that should still be allowed. After all, there are many PJ experts on here and their opinions can be very helpful. Thank you two for addressing my question.

Is trading a DC '06 poster and an Eddie Vedder Kenyon Hall poster that you bought from the site for a combined $60 flipping if you trade them for a '98 poster with an average price on Ebay of $400?
This is a serious question. Why can someone do this trade, but someone else can't just sell the two posters for cash and then buy the '98 poster? There are TONS of people on here who buy posters for trade bait only, but those who convert the poster to cash first (an extra step only leading to the same outcome as a trade) are ridiculed.
There is no difference with someone trading a poster they bought for $30 with a FMV of $300 for another poster, and someone selling their poster for $300 and buying a tv.
This is speculation. but i think the idea of flipping is based on buying a freshly released 2010 tour poster, waiting till it sells out, then immediately offering it up on the site.
I could be wrong but either way, if you're unsure about the legitimacy of the trade, take it into PM's.

I have no doubt that trades will always be acceptable on here. I just don't think it is fair that you can't sell a poster for the same amount as the going rate for the poster that was traded for. People intentional buy posters that they expect to increase in value in order to obtain older posters that they don't have enough cash for. They just trade instead of selling the poster first for cash like other people.
Kat's post indicates that you can't sell items for more than cost for "items marked not for resale". All the posters since 2005 when I started buying them have been marked that way, and other limited items. I would infer that you cannot sell any item marked "not for resale" when originally sold for more than the cost.
If someone has Pearl Jam memorabilia they no longer want, it will be ok to offer it to fellow Ten Club members on the forums for trade or sale with certain conditions. No links to eBay auctions can be posted in messages or sigs. The policy here is meant to be fan-to-fan and personal, not to create a side business. Links will be considered spam and will be removed, with penalty for multiple or continuing problems that do not follow these guidelines.
It is never ok to flip posters, or sell illegal items (illegal bootlegs from bootleggers, items purchased marked "not for resale", homemade CDs/DVDs, etc.). Please see the Posting Guidelines and Ten Club rules to be sure you are in compliance with all site rules/legalities.
Note: Auctions benefiting legitimate charities or activist issues will be ok and should be done only after consulting the Ten Club and getting their approval. Notify us when this happens before you post to be sure we are aware. (Also note, setting up a charity to support your Bobble Head obsession is not a legitimate charity.)
Thank you!
Kat and Sea
I am not sure why everyone think they cannot sell their PJ memorabilia here on this site. You just cannot auction it here, or post links to your eBay auctions. It is really not that difficult to understand.

You can do what you want, as Kat said, just not on the Forums. She can't dictate what you do on eBay and if you sell them or not. She just said you are welcome to trade only, or sell for marked price. If you want more, go to eBay, easy.
