A reasonable comprimise would be to
post your item description,
set your price
add OBO
and post that you'll take offers for a week
and pick the best offer at the end of the week

i dont see how that will work...the seller could just tell another member he/she has had a better offer and to raise thier offer..its got to be on the table and for everyone to see..or just buy it now prices.

Thanks for this thread, it is long overdue.

So, my question would be: Is it ok to post links to ebay if it's an item that the auction is already over and you're wanting to brag about your buy (like someone did with a couple of posters the other day)? Also, I've done this for an item I already bought b/c I wasn't sure if it was official or not and I wanted some educated opinions? Just wondering.

Auctions not ok.

There are auction sites out there - for people with memorabilia - who are not flipping.

I know it's not a perfect world, but I'd assume at the end of the week the seller would just say thanks to all the offers and take the best one.
Despite prime time dramas most people are good and decent.
