Random question: Anyone know if the Crowes have ever been on ACL? Would love to see 'em play the show (not to be confused w/ the festival).

I don't think they have. I remember them taping something right around the time "Warpaint" came out but I don't think it was ACL. Other than that, there are just the 2 unpluggeds and Storytellers.

The full PBS show is on Youtube

Agree. Outstanding show. I do however miss the backup singers, but Rich and Jackie did a good job of singing. Jackie did a fine job on the axe as well.

yes they both did- I agree. :P That was my 2nd Crowes show, and they are outstanding live. I did see the Chris Robinson Brotherhood at Warehouse last September. That show was good, but I prefer the Crowes more. Already ready for these guys to cut a new album, and come back to Houston again. Really enjoyed the set, and the Traffic cover of "Medicated Goo" was awesome. As was the Hard to Handle/ Hush tag.

  • Anyone have the "Wiser For The Time" vinyl box set from their 4-night run in NYC in 2010??
It's fucking brilliant. First to records are acoustic followed by two electric. The vinyl is smokey. Looks and sounds great!!
    Run for it, Marty.

Yup, have a copy. It's some awesome looking vinyl. Have only had time to make it thru one of the electric records and can't wait to spin the acoustic sides :D

I wonder if the Crowes are prepping an official release for the 2 Ryman shows. Nugs.net skipped them. They've got the shows before and now the Atlanta show from after posted, but no Ryman shows.

In the past the sit in's have delayed the release of shows for awhile(Phil in SanFran). Guess they have to get the artist to sign of for the lawyers and such. Hope that's why they haven't been put up for purchase yet.

.... But I'd bet they aren't going to release them until later in a box set down the road. the sat show was smokin and Sunday was one of the best shows I've seen them preform, so it'll be worth the wait.

Trying to find a ticket for face value for the show this Saturday in NOLA. If not, I will see them at Hangout Fest in a few weeks. Cannot wait to finally see them!

The same happened for the Manchester show in the UK. It was the first show of the tour but it was about the 5th show they released, there is hope.
  • Saw tonight's show in Orlando. Fun show... Nothing new, but fun nonetheless.

Got me thinking about Pearl Jam festival shows.

Why do people complain so much?!

I just saw a solid BC show and had a blast. Nothing to complain about!

    Cheers!

Tickets dropped on Ticketmaster today for the New Orleans show this Saturday. Picked one up and will be making the 3 1/2 drive :D Helps that I will be in Mobile the night before, so that's less driving and more exploring NOLA before the show. Also catching a free show later that night from one of my favorite bands as well.

They are planning another hiatus in 2014 so if you have the opportunity to make one of these NY shows don't let it go by!

They just added 2 shows at the State Theater here in Portland. And they just happen to be the same nights PJ are in Worcester. MF'er!!!!

I know I have some friends that will skip Worcester 2 to see the Crowes in this venue. God damn. This is going to be a tough decision.

KILLS me that the Portland, ME shows are the same nights as Pearl Jam in Worcester. Arrgh!

I grabbed a ticket for the 10/16 Portland show, in some event I don't want to go to Worcester. I know that the Crowes will be a blast, and it will include no travel or gas $$. And a $50 ticket. Overall a much cheaper experience.

But for some reason I envision kicking myself while at the State Theater thinking about the PJ show in Worcester. I am going to Hartford the following week, so that would take some of the sting away.

    Ahhhhh.....decisions, decisions.

The Robinson brothers' father Stan passed away, causing a few cancellations. Condolences go out to the family.

Here's a pretty cool clip with the three of them working on a old times Americana tribute album.
