I can't believe this guy doesn't get as much attention as his brother. If you have the chance during the remaining dates on the tour...GO SEE RICH ROBINSON!
Just saw him last night in a sold out venue that couldn't have held more than 150 people (which was great for those of us that were there, but it's a shame that more people aren't seeing this guy give a clinic on how to play guitar). The 30 minute encore was worth the entire price of admission. He pulled out "Vibeka" and "War Drums" by War and absolutely blew everyone in the building away. Here's the setlist with a couple pics

    Setlist:
I Don' Hear The Sound of You
    It's Not Easy
    Station Man (Fleetwood Mac)
    Lost & Found
    Look Through My Window
    Winter (The Rolling Stones)
What Goes On (The Velvet Underground)
    Falling Again
Standing On The Surface Of The Sun
By The Light Of The Sunset Moon
    Slide Jam
    > What Is Home
    Gone Away

    ENCORE:
Oh Sweet Nuthin (The Velvet Underground)
    Vibeka (WAR)
    War Drums (WAR)

Read that the CR album will be 2 separate records. First will have 7 tracks and the second album will be released a few months later. The songs haven't been cut down for radio either, not that it was going to get spins either way.

I seen rich in st.louis on Thursday. It was a great show. He's really came into his own on this record. Grown into a much better frontman since the hooka brown days. It is a shame he won't get the fan fare as Chris. Late last year they both played the same venue(the duck room) in st.lou, Chris sold out and rich had a fair showing at best. But anyway, glad they are both out on the road doing well.

... And a lovely lady named Amy Lavere is opening this leg of rich dates, damn good in my opinion.

Very excited for the CRB records and more tour dates. The shows I got to attend last year were among my favorite shows of all time.

Track Listing for Big Moon Ritual

    Tulsa Yesterday
    Rosalee
    Star Or Stone
    Tomorrow Blues
    Reflections On A Broken Mirror
    Beware, Oh Take Care
    One Hundred Days Of Rain

I got to hear all of these except One Hundred Days of Rain live and can't wait to hear the studio versions.

Tulsa Yesterday is a nice mid-tempo road song typical of the Black Crowes.

Rosalee is a fun little Greatful Dead type jam.

Star or Stone is an epic 10 minute anthem to what sounds to me like a love falling apary (think parting ways). I hope the keep the excellent a capella bridge and long, sad solo section. This is my favorite song by the CRB by far. It is fantastic.

Tomorrow Blues is a pretty typical blues song. Nothing special but great if you like that.

Reflections on a Broken Mirror has been around for several years. Chris used to do this one during his first solo go around.

Beware, Oh Take Care is new but it was just called Beware on the tour. I got to hear it the first time it was played. Heartbreaking lyrics and soulful delivery make this one a standout. One of the best bridges he has ever written. And the coda is very powerful and moving. Another of my favorites by this new band and gets repeated listens from me.

I am hoping the 2nd album has some of the newer songs that are missing here like Star Crossed Lonely Sailor (all though that isn't really new) and Vibration And Light Suite.

Can't wait to hear these 8-) . Good info...didn't realize it's going to be two albums. Love that the songs are getting some good mileage live before officially laying them down in the studio. I purchased a couple of boots from the CRB tour and have enjoyed the heck out of 'em. Hopefully the space between releases will mean more touring :)

Forgot it came out. I'll have to see how much a copy is at the record store. No doubt I'd love to hear it.

The song "Rosalee" is a groovy first listen.

Love it. Great idea to just let them lose and play it they way they do live. Star or Stone is fantastic. I love the bridge and the solo section.

Rosalee is so much fun live. Too bad they had to cut it down for Leno the other day.

The new song 100 Days of Rain almost sounds like a Black Crowes song that didn't make the last record. It isn't as spacey as the others.

Still on the fence about this record. It's jammy, kinda like The Dead meets Ryan Adams a bit. I dig some of the Winwood-ish keys on the record...sounds real old school.

I got the bonus tracks. They are ok.

Record just makes me miss the Crowes.

I'm friggin exhausted. We got to the venue at 7:30 tonight and the show didn't end until after midnight. Chris went on a little late, and the break in between sets was lengthier than usual, but the sets themselves were very long with tons of jams. I think Chris likes Columbus because every time he or the Crowes play here, it seems to be a really long set. I didn't take any pictures but here's the setlist in case anyone is curious

    Set 1:
    Tomorrow Blues
    Someday Past The Sunset
    100 Days of Rain
    Tough Mama
    Star or Stone
    Tumbleweed In Eden
    Never Been To Spain
    Tulsa Yesterday

    Set 2:
Try Rock N Roll (1st time played)
    Rosalee
    Girl On A Mountain
    They Love Each Other
Vibration & Light Suite (the jam at the end of this was incredible. Whatever they are paying Adam Macdougall is not enough)

Ride (best live version of this I've ever heard. Crowd went crazy)
    Reflections on a Broken Mirror
    Sunday Sound

    Encore:
    Goodbye Wheeling
    Older Guys

Overall a really good show. The band seemed really into it tonight (and very much stoned  ) In fact Adam appeared to be blazing right on stage

Awesome!! Sounds like you had a great time. I am happy to see they are sticking with the same formula (2 really long sets). I can't wait for the Tulsa show.

Sunday Sound is such a great song live. It always gets a big sing along and some dancing going. How was Star or Stone? That is still my favorite of his new songs, although 100 Days of Rain is right there. And Beware.

I have been seriously trying to figure out how to go to California and see them again. The shows I saw out there last year were incredible.

"Sunday Sound" was amazing. They jammed the ending out much longer than I've ever heard them do before. You could tell from their faces they were trying some different things last night. Lots of smiles and band interaction onstage. "Star or Stone" and "100 Days of Rain" both sounded really good. They sounded exactly like the record. I haven't officially read this anywhere, but my guess is they recorded "Big Moon Ritual" live in the studio with no overdubs.
The first set dragged a little bit as it was more mellow, but the place was hoppin' for the upbeat second set. It's too bad several people bailed because it was so late on a weeknight. There was also a signed/numbered poster for sale. I'll take a pic of mine and post it later.
