If you have anything in your life that isn't a human being that you can't live without...you are in trouble.

If you need something to make you happy, and only 1 thing will do...you are in trouble.

Fine line between need and want. The addicts need, the pleasure seekers want, I would be the latter as most here in this thread, I think.

Now living in S Florida it's very plentiful here especially here out west next to the everglades in this private equestrian community. I can live with it and I can live without it. Not something I have to have or need to have just a compliment for me in this hectic life we lead. Now my fiance on the other hand is a whole other story but she's still 8-) with it's everyday usage. :D

Not true...I guess it depends on how much you are drinking...but it'd be the same with anything.
I've never tried weed, so living without it is easy. I just never felt the need to do it. To each their own, but it pisses me off when a weed smoker gets on some moral high ground against alcohol. It's just silly.

There is no "moral high ground" here, it's the truth. Alcohol is much worse than weed. when you get "high on pot" you can completely function and are in total control of your actions, can't say the same for alcohol. I've smoked throughout my university degree, and plan to continue while i do my masters. now, of course I drink too, but this "moral high ground" is not silly ( and I'm not against alcohol, but I definitely believe it's far worse than weed)

hey drowned out that was a bit harsh don't ya think...insult's not needed. speedy is ace's with me...and sometimes we disagree.leave him alone little dick 8-):lol:p.s. your eyes must be crooked
Care to show me where I insulted him? I simply turned his statements around on him....
why aren't you offended for his friends? Cause they're not here to suck up to? :P
Speedy, nor anyone else here, should take anything I say to heart on a personal level - if my presentation was too harsh, I apologize.
I'm not one to put politics before friendships, and I have no issues with Speedy at all, in fact I think he's a pretty fuckin funny guy and I'd gladly lift a pint with him.
the crooked eyes thing totally went over my head....

    (i got it)

I don't "think" that way, I know that way. You are just going to have to trust me on this one. And how does one get "wasted" on marijuana anyway? I've been wasted drunk, I've been hopped to the gills on speed, coke, and acid. I've sat comotose in chairs from opiates, but I have never been wasted on weed. Pretty goddamn high, but never wasted.
My man gets this stuff he calls blue cheese, it brings a new dimension to getting stoned, also try a ground pipe, the local yardies thought they had been high until I made them one of those.[/quote]

    explain these please
    ground pipe
    and blue cheese

Sometimes it's hard to resist when it's your Ganja Babe...Michael Franti

    Heavy medicine
Ya see my eyes are feeling red again
    I'm bringin' light
    Like Thomas funky Edison
Been in the desert for forty seven days
    Purple Haze
The poison that I tasted never changed
Turn up the woofers so I can feel the beat
Vibrate my belly like a bomb in harmony
    Summer heat
My back is sticking to me to the seat
    Bare feet
Tank top and shorts is all ya need
    Summer breeze
    I'm feelin' kinda fine
I'm rollin with my shorty all the time
Wind and grind lovely shake your behind
Cinnamon skin be bringing sin to my mind
But whether or not the weather's hot
    Or the weather's cold
I'm wrapping her like a blanket with my whole soul
So that she can feel me
Like Coca Cola I'm the woo-o-oh oh the sweet thing
My girl lollipop she growing mad crops
    She rollin' herbs everyday
    At about 4 o' clock
    Tick tock
Strike the hammer while the Iron's hot
Ooh girl watcha got cooking in the pot
    See Mary Mary quite contrary
    How does your garden grow?
    Hydroponic ultra supersonic
Or does it grow naturally slow?

Ganja babe my sweet ganja babe
I love the way ya love me and the way ya misbehavin'
Ganja babe my sweet ganja babe
Come wake my body-ody take my mind away

Everybody get down and do the boogaloo
Just like the cover of I want you
Yoo hooo look watcha gonna do
Watcha gonna do when the rent comes due
Round up the posse and call up the crew
5 bucks at the door and ya bring ya own booze
Call ya neighbors 'cause they can come too
Be sure and bring ya records 'cause I only got a few
So baa baa black sheep have you any wool
Yes sir, yes sir a nickle bag full
Some for my partner some for my crew
Some for my ganja baby she needs 2

  • Here's what bothers me...

Not a knock on this thread...and I know it's slightly off topic. But I was just thinking today....The masses seem to be more concerned about getting high than helping others and making the world a better place.

Decriminalizing and/or legalizing weed is gaining a lot of momentum because a shit ton of american citizens are supporting it. Yet we're still in Iraq and Afghanistan killing innocent people. Our government has committed and will continue to commit heinous crimes against humanity and it's own people. But we're all too worried about getting high to fucking do anything about it.

I just wish our collective energy could be used for more pressing matters. I mean, I think weed should be decriminalized for sure. And probably prohibition completely lifted. But I feel like it's just one of many distractions to keep people from focusing on the real problems.

Eliot, I have to disagree with you. Some people think that legalizing "the pot" will help the economy, and, more importantly in my opinion, local economies. Not only is it beneficial as a legalized business, but it will also alleviate some of the strain - economic and personnel - on the local law enforcement.
Granted, some people are, as you say, "too worried about getting stoned".

This thread is discussing marijuana, therefore the replies to it address the same issue.
Many people on this board are concerned with other issues that this country and its citizens are facing. How many actually do something about it other than talking is unknown, but I feel that the majority of individuals do care and are doing what they can to help, whether it be volunteering at a soup kitchen, fighting for environmental issues, or raising awareness for any number of issues.

The bottom line is, and I think this is your sentiment Eliot, that it is up to US to change things. The government won't make things better, WE will. But, this takes action.
