I am not defending the border agent's actions. I don't see any justification in the shooting.
If he felt his life was in danger because rocks were being thrown at him... he is in the wrong business. If 100 people were throwing rocks at him... or if someone was firing rocks at him with a power band slingshot... then, maybe... yeah, there is justification. Obviously you can't read because I said it isn't good that someone died. However, I'm not for one second believing the BA's were not under attack, as they have been hundreds of times before.

I beg to differ. This kid was killed specifically because we are STILL trying to keep his people away from the land our ancestors stole from them. We killed them to drive them off it then & we're still killing them to keep them off it now. This is not the historical trauma everyone wants to pretend doesn't exist when we talk about ethnic studies or poverty or whatever. This trauma is current and it is a DIRECT result of our continuation of the practices of our ancestors (unlike poverty, etc., which is an indirect result).
