holly shit Chris ...your going to be framing posters for the next few months ..hahahahaha any chance if we get it to fifty you sending us $100
haha.... nope.
I was just going over the cost of materials and everything plus eating $25 of the cost of packaging per pair for a lot of people, and CC fees, etc... at $159 we hit a wall. If we got to like 100+ we might get to another drop, but it wouldn't be significantly less. Good try though! :P

Still waiting to drop the "S" bomb. "Shipped" Still waiting on my NOLA print. Keep ya posted...
Cool! Just post when you ship your posters!
...and any of the other confirmed people, please go ahead and ship your posters if you already have them in your possession. We are confirmed for the lowest price bracket!
If need be you can wait until July 1st to ship, but it would be SO helpful for those who can ship early to do so (and post here when shipped).
There's a PDF form at the bottom of the OP to be printed and included with your shipment.
Please read the whole OP which answers questions about shipping, packaging, size restrictions, glass-upgrades (for those who want it), etc.
...and I'm planning on having two shipments of frames out. End of July, and middle of August. If you don't mind your framing shipping out middle of August, it would certainly help. This has been much more successful than I anticipated! So, you can write on your form somewhere "Ship in August" or "Ship in July", whichever your preference is.
Cheers!
Thanks!

I want in! I want my EV rocket one done like the example you showed. Do you have a sample of the EV batman one as well? I want them to maybe match at least in size and matting style so they can hang together. So put me down for 2, maybe even 3 if you can convince me to get EV black and blue standing poster done.
I love my EV posters! How did you frame the rocket one without dipping into the margin? I heard that was the biggest problem.
Also do I get a receipt of any kind? How will I ship you the posters without the fear of never seeing them again?

Cool! I have you now confirmed for 2!
I can frame the EV Rocket like the photo with blue and red. Just on your order form write "frame as shown in photo on your OP".
The EV Batman I have a nice matting combination for. Black mat on top and neon orange second mat to go with those colors in the poster. I don't have a closeup photo of it, but I framed it with this matting for my personal collection (though in a different frame, since the color-stripes weren't available then). This will give you an idea, but it would have a color-striped frame of your choice.
As far as your third EV poster, I'm sure I can frame it beautifully! I just need to see it in person to look at the available matting colors to see how they look with the actual poster colors. Choosing matting based on the colors on the computer monitor is tough, since the monitor can be way off on color. Just let me know if you'd like it to be 3.
As far as the EV Rocket, matting does need to cover a little bit of the poster to hold the paper in place, however it would not cover the target. There's enough room since I only need to cover 1/8" at the minimum. The exhaust at the bottom of the rocket was printed all the way off the paper, so we do cover a little bit of that, but as you see from the photo in the OP, that's ok (and it's necessary. )
As far as size goes, matting will be 2.5" all around the poster size, then the frame is cut around the matting size. If the posters are the same size, then the frames will be the same size. If the posters are different sizes, then the frames will be too. Look at the above posters in my personal collection, as well as the below photo. Typically, as long as the tops of the frames are at the same height, then they look fine if the bottoms are different. It's when the tops are all different heights that there tend to be issues.
As far as matching in matting style, these 2 (or 3) posters have dramatically different colors. If you'd like, you can tell me which matting you'd like on all of them that would be the same. But I'd recommend framing and matting them for their colors, since they are so completely different in color, but that's my recommendation. Luckily because the frame profile (shape) is identical for all of them, even if the color stripes are different, they will still look like a collection. Actually, on the EV Rocket, EV Batman and EV Black & Blue posters would look good with the white-striped frames shown on the OP, so that could be your "consistent" element, and all other factors could be unique.
...what do you think?
And as far as a receipt, I'll be glad to mail you a receipt. My business is licensed and has been operating for almost 9 years (I started framing 22 years ago though) and I'm in a retail location (not out of a basement or anything ). Typically I have a handwritten receipt that I write up for customers coming in the store. I'd be glad to mail it to you, if that would help? Just let me know. And if you need to email me, it is <!-- e --><a href="mailto:email@westendframing.com">email@westendframing.com</a><!-- e -->. ...just remind me about mailing you one, if you'd like me to.
and here's the other wall from my personal collection.
(and these frames are different from the striped frames - the striped frames weren't available when I was framing my personal ones.)

You have until July 1st to ship, but with this huge quantity of posters, it will help me greatly to receive them early. And if you don't mind them shipping by mid-August instead of end-of-July, please write that somewhere on the order form. Thanks! And please insure your posters, just to be on the safe side.

What stripe would you recommend with the Batman poster? Silver maybe? I have mine stored away and can't remember the color scheme...lol.
Do they have this style frame without the color stripe? or with a "black" colored stripe?
Good question. There's a few that would look nice on it.
The silver-striped is now manufactured as a white-stripe (see note on website just above frame colors). The white-striped frame would look sharp on it, and you can see it on the bottom of the OP on a horizontal EV poster. It would be a bold choice. The yellow-striped frame seen below might look really good on the Batman poster too. It's a soft yellow (not too intense) and I think it would compliment the yellow in the Batman poster. And if you think you'd prefer a plain black frame, send me a PM. As far as matting, that's easy on that one. I have on mine with a black top-mat and a neon-orange second mat.
Here's the photo of the poster:
and here's the color-stripe frame that I would recommend as first choice:
(though different matting)

On this note, I also have a question regarding the order. If both of us are shipping 1 poster each (totaling 2) should we send in 2 different order forms with 2 different CC #'s? Or should we just put one form in with both posters and 1 CC # and figure out the rest on our end?
Edit: Nevermind, we're just gonna package our posters together and bill it to one card. They will both get shipped back together to the same address.
One last plea to find someone from the Chicagoland area (including the north suburbs and southern Wisconsin) who would want to split the cost of shipping.
We would each get 1 print framed and only need to pay $182 each (shipped).
Now I just have to decide which to frame! Thanks for doing this. I've been waiting over a decade to frame these posters and I'm so excited. A few of my posters are in sad shape - will this affect anything or cause any problems?
Do you have recommendations or photo samples of these:
Hartford - 06/27/08 - (long narrow black hole) - 24"x12"
Hartford - 09/13/98 - (orange tree) - 23"x13.5"
EV Solo NYC - 08/04/08 (black/blue profile) - 24"x18"
I'm also considering Hartford - 05/13/06 (birds) - 26"x20", but it's above the size. Have you seen this poster, and do you think it'll fit the 19x25 matte opening criteria?

Hey Fenway,
I haven't framed the Hartford '08 poster yet, but I'd recommend either the white-striped frame, or purple striped frame. White would be bolder and purple is darker and more subtle against the black of the frame. For matting on this one, I'd recommend a black top mat and probably that purple tone as the second mat. I'd need to see in person to make sure, but that's my recommendation.
Youngster,
One form would be best to ensure there's no confusion on my end. If possible, one credit card would also be best, but if necessary I can split the framing amounts to 2 cards. That isn't hard to do. Shipping would have to be on one card though. You can just write on the form which you prefer.
you could probably put me down for two
it will depend if I can find 2 prints smaller then 19x25
most PJ prints are larger and I think $122 for the larger size glass is a bit steep
Hi KDH12,
Do you want me to put you down as "tentative" then? I'll wait until I hear back from you.
And it looks like you're misreading the pricing guide on the OP. If your poster is over 19x25, up to 19x31, it's only $22 more over the bracket price. All frames will have Conservation (UV protectant) Glass.
For those who would like to upgrade the glass from Conservation Glass to Museum Glass (same UV protection, less reflection), and if they'd like Museum Glass in the next size up to 19x31, THAT would be $122, which I assure you for framing in this size with Museum Glass is very reasonable.
Here's the poster size info for posters over 19x31:
Posters larger than 19" x 25", up to 19" x 31": Add $22 to final price bracket
*note: shipping and packaging will be more expensive than the estimates above.
Posters larger than 19" x 31", up to 27" x 35": Add $69 to final price bracket
*note: shipping and packaging will be more expensive than the estimates above.

Hey CJMST3K, thanks for the detailed response! I'm a little swamped in life right now, so when I get a chance I'm going to read over all the details on the first page of the thread and see what I have to do... but I like your framing suggestions for my posters. I actually have both EV black and blue posters, but I jumped the gun and got 1 framed because I saw Michaels had 60% off at one point but now I don't like the frame job. I don't know if I can go back and try to get a discount to reframe it or if its a sunk cost. Anyway I potentially want all 4 of those framed but am not sure if I can fix the one already done!
So can you give me a quote for 2 posters and then for 4 (if I want to just take the frame job already done as a sunk cost)? Is the shipping back to me really expensive? I like outside of Baltimore MD if you want to calculate exact shipping costs.

Gotcha down as 2-3 tentative now.
I can certainly work with posters in "distressed" conditions. Whether it will be a problem is something I can only tell in person. Can you specify the condition? Torn? Folded? If you can describe what's going on with it, I'll tell you what I anticipate would need to be done to get them to look their best.
Hartford '08 I'd recommend either the purple-striped frame, or white striped frame, and black top matting and purple second matting to compliment the colors in the print.
Hartford '98 I'd recommend framing probably close to the Starlake poster on the OP. Take a look!
EV Solo NYC I'd can't find the image on expressobeans, but I'm sure I can make it look awesome for you.
Adding ticket stubs is a problem. The matting for all posters part of this special is 2.5", with about 2.25" showing after the ledge of the frame. The top mat has about 2" visible. If your ticket is 1.75" or shorter, I'll be glad to put it on top of the matting at no charge for you, between the matting and the glass. If you need to have the matting cut to accommodate the ticket, it throws a bit of a monkeywrench in our production for the group, so a bit of extra labor is involved, plus we would need about an extra 3" or so of space, which would probably bump it into the next size category.
...though, personally I prefer having the artwork separate from tickets, and framing tickets separately.

Ah... the "99.9% off framing" sale. I think the cost of framing won't be refunded.
...and from someone who used to work for me, and from customers, removing posters from their framing might be a problem. The person who used to work for me said Michael's trained them to use ATG tape (double-sided tape) and put it on the back of the mat, and tape the matting to the FACE of the artwork - which is SUPER bad for the poster, and would tear it if attempted to be removed. But this is only what I've heard from someone who worked for them, and also from customers of theirs. Hopefully someone more competent was working on yours, but... well... I've heard lots of bad things. :?
I've taken apart many poorly framed items before, and can do my best to safely remove it for reframing. I'm sure I can frame it to look lovely, so it's just a matter of if any damage was done that you can't see under the matting. So, you're welcome to send it for me to frame over for you.
So can you give me a quote for 2 posters and then for 4 (if I want to just take the frame job already done as a sunk cost)? Is the shipping back to me really expensive? I like outside of Baltimore MD if you want to calculate exact shipping costs.
Thanks so much for your offer and your help!
If the posters are 19x25, then the price to frame the posters (according to the specs of this framing special) in this group framing special is now at the lowest price of $159 per frame, plus shipping.... and we are eating $25 of the packaging for those buying 2 or more ($25 covers the packaging of 2 19x25 framed posters). If your posters are over 19x25, then we have more sizes available for an extra amount. See the OP for the "Size Restrictions" to see the additional cost, depending on the size.
I put some shipping estimates from UPS based on 2 framed 19x25 posters, to a variety of locations. If you're shipping 3 or 4, then the price may be more because the box would be bigger. Or if the posters are larger than 19x25, that would also affect the box size, which would affect the price. But the shipping estimates for the 2 frames going to those locations may be helpful for an idea.

Cheers!
Thanks!

My business is licensed and has been operating for almost 9 years (I started framing 22 years ago though) and I'm in a retail location (not out of a basement or anything
and here's the other wall from my personal collection.
(and these frames are different from the striped frames - the striped frames weren't available when I was framing my personal ones.)

Do they have this style frame without the color stripe? or with a "black" colored stripe?
so I will ask a question that probably has been addressed already
but there is not a solid black frame option?
Good question. There's a few that would look nice on it.
The silver-striped is now manufactured as a white-stripe (see note on website just above frame colors). The white-striped frame would look sharp on it, and you can see it on the bottom of the OP on a horizontal EV poster. It would be a bold choice. The yellow-striped frame seen below might look really good on the Batman poster too. It's a soft yellow (not too intense) and I think it would compliment the yellow in the Batman poster. And if you think you'd prefer a plain black frame, send me a PM.
Here's the photo of the poster:
and here's the color-stripe frame that I would recommend as first choice:

On this note, I also have a question regarding the order. If both of us are shipping 1 poster each (totaling 2) should we send in 2 different order forms with 2 different CC #'s? Or should we just put one form in with both posters and 1 CC # and figure out the rest on our end?
Edit: Nevermind, we're just gonna package our posters together and bill it to one card. They will both get shipped back together to the same address.

EV Solo: 6/16/11 Boston, 6/18/11 Hartford,
it will depend if I can find 2 prints smaller then 19x25
most PJ prints are larger and I think $122 for the larger size glass is a bit steep
Hi KDH12,
Do you want me to put you down as "tentative" then?

So can you give me a quote for 2 posters and then for 4 (if I want to just take the frame job already done as a sunk cost)? Is the shipping back to me really expensive? I like outside of Baltimore MD if you want to calculate exact shipping costs.
Thanks so much for your offer and your help!
