Thank you. I was there and i agree with you. Great show? YES, without a doubt. BEST ever? NO. Hell, i haven't seen them that much and doesn't make my top 5.
we are going to need links to boots on the list. you shouldn't be able to vote unless you were there or have heard the boot
Better yet - you shouldn't be allowed to vote on shows you've been to.. people tend to have a bias towards those shows.
NO, people around here aren't bias towards the shows they've been too :P . I think this a good idea too. Especially since the last couple of shows?
Exactly. I like what 81 suggested - maybe say a vote for a show you were not at is worth ten points, and a vote for a show you were at is worth eight.. something like that. To be honest, I'm not too concerned with what gets top pick - I'm excited to see a list of the 32 top Pearl Jam shows so I can start getting those bootlegs
'05 - TO, '06 - TO 1, '08 - NYC 1 & 2, '09 - TO, Chi 1 & 2, '10 - Buffalo, NYC 1 & 2, '11 - TO 1 & 2, Hamilton, '13 - Buffalo, Brooklyn 1 & 2, '15 - Global Citizen, '16 - TO 1 & 2, Chi 2

I dont think there is any legitimate way to value votes based on people being to shows or not (as its just people's word anyway). I would love it if I could give double votes to anyone who was to BOTH shows being voted upon though. Again, I dont know if its feasible as anyone can say that and there's no way to verify.
I'm going to scroll through my memory bank and this thread and come up with a proto-list of 32 shows.
I know for certain I will need a little help before 2000. After obvious ones in the late 90s (Randalls, MSGII) I dont have a great knowledge of all the shows. And shows in the early 90s... I really dont know. The good news is those shows were a lot shorter (and the ticketmaster battle means there's a lot less) so probably will only need a few token shows from that range.
Stay tuned for a temporary list of the starting field...
Jones Beach II (2000), Holmdel (2003), Camden I, East Rutherford II, Gorge I, Gorge II (2006), MSG I, Boston II (2008), Spectrum II, Spectrum III, Spectrum IV (2009), MSG I, MSG II (2010), Prague (2012), Philly I (2013), Philly I, Philly II, Fenway I (2016), Fenway I (2018), MSG (2022), MSG I, Fenway 1 (2024)
The last 4 Spectrum shows were awesome, but as someone that attended Spectrum '03, Wachovia '05, 10/28/09 & 10/31/09 Spectrum, I must say that Spectrum '03 was definitely the best.
Maybe the recent Spectrum shows were more historic, but '03 was out of control.
"Darkness comes in waves, tell me, why invite it to stay?"
I can't believe we have 3 pages and no one has mentioned Red Rocks 2 '95. I've been to 95 shows in my life including a lot of shows that are mentioned as being the best ever (all MSG shows, Mansfield 3, all the gorge shows, Sea 2 '00 ect) and Red Rocks was the best by far. IMO.
Ok... here's my idea at the moment (I'll figure out seeds later after some more suggestions of things missing)
In chronological order for now
The Academy New Years Eve '92 or pinkPop '92 (not sure)
Atlanta '94
Boston III '94
Soldier Field '95
Red Rocks '95
Randalls Island '96
MSG II '98
Katowice, Poland II '00
Seattle Key Arena '00
MSG I '03
State College '03
Spectrum '03
Mansfield III '03
Benaroya Hall '03
Mexico City III '03
Buffalo '03
Gorge '05
Borgata I '05
Wachovia '05
Newcastle, Aust. '06
Torino, Italy '06
Gorge I '06
Grand Rapids '06
San Diego '06
The Vic - Chicago '07
Denmark '07
Hartford '08
Bonnaroo '08
Philly III '09
Philly IV '09
Boston '10
MSG II '10
A few are clearly a "cut below" and can be replaced IMO if we find something better... even as is, thats a pretty exclusive list. Had to leave a lot of good, nay, great shows off.

Lookin at that list I think it needs to be more like 16 or even 8 shows.
There's a difference between very good shows and the true handful of legendary shows.
I haven't heard them yet, but I have a hard time believe MSG or Boston from this year compete with Soldier Field, Seattle 2, Boston 3, and Randal's Island.

you have to add PHX 95 Eddie put a hole in the stage during blood! with the mic stand!! Sang open road/offical you can record/ 2imporv's/Awesome set list/mister rogers hahaha
I was at the Newcastle '06 show, second row, middle seat! Amazing! Best show ever!
And Melbourne 1995 was awesome and definately should be included! It was broadcast across Australia on Triple J and 2 million people listened... not bad when we have a population of 20 million.
PJ - Sydney 1998; Sydney 2003; Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle 2006; Melbourne, Sydney 2009; Gold Coast, Melbourne, Sydney 2014.
EV - Canberra, Newcastle, Sydney 2011; Sydney 2014.
And Pink Pop is better than The Academy in '92, IMO.
What about the "shoes for my friends" show?! A lot of anger/vibrance!
And MSG 2 2003 was full of anger and energy too!

the '03 show was the reason they wanted to go back so bad before it closed...they knew how great they were in that old (beautiful) dump
A good early show to have in this would be Zurich '92, the only time they played Mama-son together in order.
I was also going to suggest London, Ontario 2005 since it was filled with so many rarities (last time they played BRY until MSG last week) and the Stoney dance, but the list is already a little crowded as it is.
You HAVE to include the incredible show in Grand Rapids, Michigan 06!!
I'll 2nd that, and I wasn't even there. great show, great boot. best Crazy Mary I've ever heard. I'd also include (haven't read the wholse thread, so i apologize if these have been mentioned)
vegas 2000
Jones Beach 3 (No Code Show)
Soldier field 95
Seattle 2000 (1 and/or 2)
Canada 2005 (hard to pick one specific show, but something from that mini-tour should be repped. )
That OSAKA, JAPAN show IN 1998 shits all over that MSG show in the same year.
I LOVE those boots, all of them, as the crowd is so polite and quiet, it's like listening to a studio album. Makes for a less thrilling show, but a much greater bootleg
jones beach 00 night 3 (possibly 2 as well for the its ok tag and great crowd)
buffalo 03
albany 06 i thought was a tad better than east rutherford
london 05

Nice list!
I would add London and Hamilton (Ontario) 2005 (Black Red and Yellow at the first, hilarious "I propose a toast" and Harvest Moon premiere at the second)
Cleveland 2006 (glorious It's Ok tag, beautiful Immortality)
Verona and Milan 2006 (the setting of the first, the rain, Release; and in Milan the singing was unreal. Check out videos of Black and Daughter)
Berlin 2009 was beautiful... Brother... the whole setlist.
Keep in mind that for some of the shows the setting and the crowd (beyond what can be heard in the boots) make a big difference. Guess you have to trust those who were present for those...
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.

You must be talking 03. They didn't play Japan in 1998.
Randalls 96
Pistoia 06

Missoula 95

Sorry about that. It was 1995. Glad you pointed that out. So never mind about the shitting of MSG in 98'> Thanks for pointing that out.
