I feel like we are going to get the rilvary between spieth and Rory that we never got with tiger. Not to mention it is US and Europe. Golf should be a lot of fun for a long time

Such a nice Sunday day drinking beer.
Tally ho
Sitting outback. Masters on the ipad. Bbq chicken and roasted poblano peppers on the grill and a philly pale ale
that sounds very good.

I'll take the field for $20.
Haha well that's not really a fair bet. Give me 2 to 1 and you got it
Who's your second pick?
Meant two to one odds
I'll give you 2-1 if you want tiger. 15 years ago, I wouldn't make this bet. Today it just seems like a sure thing.
Even back then it was a pretty safe bet. I always thought the whole "Tiger or the field" bet borderline insane just from a mathematical standpoint.
Of course. That said dude has won like 25% of the time he has played. Which is insane
Oh totally. It was an unbelievable run. And man, sometimes he dominated and ran away with it. And other times he ripped guys hearts out. I'll never forget my friend and I drinking a case of beer when we were like 16 and cheering on Bob May to beat him in the PGA Championship. But alas, Tiger holed a long putt to force the playoff and then beat him. Poor Bob.

I'm not in the "fuck Tiger" camp. Frankly I don't know why some of you guys are so passionate about it. He's just another pro athlete. But yeah your emphasis of me putting "was" speaks to my whole "Tiger vs. the field" was stupid. Yeah there was that run in the from like 1999 through 2003 where it made sense. But it was downright silly to hear like the Pardon The Interruption dorks on ESPN debating "Tiger vs. the field" from like 2007 onward. Um...I'll take the field. And that's not just in hindsight because he hasn't won a major since 2005. You can see it then. In 2002, no one was close to him. By 2007ish, guys like Mickelson had more than closed the gap.
Now, while I'm not in the "fuck Tiger" camp, I have always been in the "fuck the media's obsession with Tiger." Especially at this point. I don't need Sportscenter highlights of his entire round and then the two or three best shots by the tournament leader. Again, in 2002-2007, fine. But not anymore.

Yeah my bad. 2005 was his last Masters win. He won five majors after that. But even then during those years, I don't think he was THAT much better than everybody else like he was portrayed in the media (again, "Tiger vs. the field?"). Like, in 2002, he was miles ahead of everybody and that made sense. But by 2007, he was about as far ahead of everybody as say Rory was considered last year: definitive #1 player....but not unbeatable.

I think it's healthier than your obsession with hating him.
Tiger may not win another major, but I think he is a waaaay better golfer than anyone posting on this board The haters would JUMP at the chance to play a round with him. Jordan Spieth is awesome, and any other year Mickelson or Rose would have won.
As far as myself, I like to golf, usually shoot in the low-mid eighties but do not play enough anymore to score a handicap. Love playing with my dad, as he introduced me to the gem at age 11. Favorite courses would be Johnson Ranch outside Phoenix, Banff Springs, Eagle Ranch in Invermere BC, and my old hometown course in Hinton AB (despite the fact they have fucked up what could be a world class golf course near the Rockies). The In ka Mip course in Oliver BC is short but wonderful. So glad golf season is back!
When Tiger won in '97 he made 486,000. Spieth made 1.8 million yesterday, wow! Tiger won by 12 shots in '97. Spieth had 15 players within 12 shots of him.
I hope Spieth is the answer to Rory. Golf is the hardest sport to remain relevant. It is impossible to predict a golfers future. For everyone asking why the media still focuses on Tiger it is because of this. There are only a handful of guys in the history of golf who could continue to win over a 20 year period and Tiger is one of them.

Historically, it's actually kinda cool that he tied the record. Same score and like five months difference in age.
