Um, I somehow got lucky as shit today. Had a meeting this afternoon at a client so was working from home this morning, meeting got bumped up and was a call soooooo, I get to watch this entire round.

How everyone can't enjoy watching this is beyond me.

How insane is that? He did it yesterday too and both times striped the tee shot.

A disappointing 61? Nah. That putt on 18 was insane.

After this incident, the commentary of Gary McCord knocked a few of tigers' lovers down a peg on the tiger sycophant list.
His gushing praise at this prima donna display was embarassing.
Once again, tiger woods = drama queen.
"They don't give a shit Keith Moon is dead,
is that exactly what I thought I read."
  • Looked very dramatic. That was not his normal beginning to a 3-wood swing. He never intended to complete that swing. What was the story? I did not watch. He will continue to no longer matter until he can putt in majors.

Pretty remarkable display of golf, by the worlds #1...
The average score yesterday was 71...
And while Tigers putting was awesome, his ball-striking was absolutely fantastic...wow...
Watching the replay at the local watering hole last eve and someone mentioned that Jack, Arnie, Watson and a few other greats never shot 61 in competition...pretty remarkable, and the course ain't some cake-walk muni...
Be interesting to see how the weekend plays out and if he can continue the ball striking next week.
    As always,
    GO TIGER

    Yep.And lovers are gonna love.
Glad I'm not in that camp.tiger knew right from the start of his backswing that he wasn't going to
complete it.But you guys think this is some super human feat.Insane.Wow.How does he do it?
Man has he got you hoodwinked.
pjfan13--you type some interesting notes on men who are true golf gentlemen.
Ken Venturi,Jim Langley. These two epitomize the true sportsmanship of golf. And rightly so.
They have earned it through their respect, conduct and appreciation of the game.
And yet,you love the complete antithesis of these two men you honoured.
You idolize a guy so devoid of character, honesty and humility.
    Interesting.What's the word for it?
    Hipocrisy comes to mind.

    RoughMix,
I don't "idolize" Tiger Woods. Nor do I "love" Tiger Woods. You can scrub through these pages and find I never used the words, nor proclaimed that.
I love the game of golf.
I respect the men who made/make the game great.
I find myself admiring the feats of the greats, the men who leave their mark on one of the greatest games.
Like him or not, Tiger - already - is in the conversation as one of the greatest, most accomplished men to play the game of golf. Inside the ropes, RoughMix. In the fairways, RoughMix. On the greens and from the rough, good sir.
I am disappointed by his lack of respect for some of the tradition and etiquette both inside and outside the clubhouse.
Him cheating his family, harming himself, saddening and maddening (and losing) sponsors, not being a saint or gentleman outside of the course sucks, but its his life.
    Who am I to judge?
Michael Jordan. Babe Ruth. Dan Marino. Lawrence Taylor. Pete Rose. Muhammad Ali. Arnold Palmer. Want me to continue? Hall of Famers in sport, less then such outside the lines.
Athletic prowess and feats don't lose their luster (for me) just because of personal flaws off the field of sport.
And by the way, Tiger Woods could win 25 majors and not be an eighth of a human being Mr. Langley was ;)
Doesn't mean I won't root for the guy to try and reach the pinnacle of the game of golf.
I respect you root against him. I respect that you chose not to admire his ability to play the game you apparently like. Thats you and more power to ya, RoughMix.
I'm going to root like hell for the guy to win more majors, set scoring records and do things inside the ropes that us mere mortals could only dream about doing in videogames, let alone real life.
I think throwing the word "hypocrisy" around is a misuse of the term, not accurate or befitting of a man of your intelligence.
    Peace and respect, RoughMix...
    And Go Tiger.

I have never stated that I "hate" tiger woods.Yet you ascribe that to me.
Big joke until someone calls you out.
I have never cared what he does in his personal life.
    It was just so befitting.
But when you see his sour face, and saying f***k after missing a birdie putt on his way to a brilliant 61.
You have to say, what an ass.Inside the ropes.
Next week will be a much tougher course.
    Enjoy.

Almost broke 80 today. Never have. 3 putt bogey on 9 gave me 40 on the front.

Tripled 10, but foured thru the next couple holes. Doubled 16 which hurt. Shot 82. Next time. Played well all year.
