Great show. #19 since 1996. Loved- Of the Girl, Brain of J, Brother, Go, Inside Job. Have to say this was the best Footsteps, Once, and You Are I've ever seen. I fucking love You Are! Also great off the new album, Amongst the Waves, Unthought Known, and Supersonic (fucking love this song!) and the fucking Fixer! Yeah Yeah Yeah!
Must say that after all the shit talking of Boston yesterday, I'm dead serious: I'll take Of the Girl, Brother, and Brain of J over Pilate, Bee Girl and Undone any day of the week! So enough of the pissing contest. Could the crowd have been better? Yeah, but I didn't come to see the crowd. I had a great fucking time, off to smoke a little and dream until Thursday. Thanks Pearl Jam! That was great! Now play some fucking Oceans before I lose my fucking mind.
Thanks,
Joe

Holy Shit I forgot Jersey Girl! fuck that was awesome too, thanks Pearl Jam!
EDIT: Holy Shit, Immortality was fucking great too! Jesus! Maybe I should smoke less!
Just got back from Newark. Was hoping for Alone and Footsteps. Got them both and lotteried for Front row by Mike!!!!! Band seemed to have a great time. Crowd by me was ecstatic most of the show. I liked the set list quite a bit. You are was a great song to do near the end. Slow funky vibe to wind down with. Indifference was a highlight for me as YL is what I usually get. Had Brother in the back of my mind today but did not seriously think it would happen. Drove a 200 Miles in the rain today and it never stopped raining. Ed said our NJ weather today reminded them of Seattle. Poster is Mike and is very cool. Didn't get any Mike picks tonight but still have one from The Spectrum so all is well. Garden on Friday with upper level seat. Going alone.
Band was great - how hilarious about the constant audibles from the huddle around eddie...does anybody have a copy of the real original setlist...i know that breath was on it and was moved to be right after footsteps...those are my 2 favorites - so close.....but so many rarities tonight and the sound was awesome...
I can't speak to what was happening on the floor, but my section(17) was kick ass....high energy and we were all happy and grateful to be there and have such great seats.
MSG is gonna be amazing!

Just came back from Newark - another amazing night with Pearl Jam - nothing's ever gonna beat that.
I don't think you really can compare PJ shows, there's always something special about them on any given day. But I have to agree the crowd wasn't as energetic as it was in Hartford, and it's not a great feeling when you think the band deserve much more appreciation than they're getting. And they really did tonight. That set list was out of this world. Once, Footsteps and You Are were my highlights.
Great Show. IMO hearing the thump... thump... thump.. of Matt's bass to start the show gets me all pumped up since Of the Girl is my favorite opener. I felt the show had a great vibe to it. Hightlight for me was the first encore..there was just so much feeling and emotion in that set of Just Breathe, Footsteps and Inside Job.. Awesome!! There were defintely emptyt seats up in the back in the 200's but i can understand that. It is WAY up there. The Rock is cool because you can hang in the bars and see the show and there were many people doing that instead of sitting up top. The crowd around me was really into the show and i cant say i saw anyone sitting down. My wife came with me for the first time since '03 and she was blown away by the energy the boys still have. All in all , I left a PJ show again saying the same thing i always do..this is a band that gives you all they have every time out!. What was with the early lights? Curfew??
But i still need more more more so I am looking for an extra 10c seat for Friday if anyone needs a friend and has one for sale me please PM me.
THIS SETLIST WAS BETTER!! THAT ENCORE WASN'T AS GOOD!! BETTER POSTER!
I think this is the theme on most posts.
Why cant we just discuss what we enjoyed?
I enjoyed being stoned and having Mike and Co. (thats right I said it) take me on a 9 minute Inside Job.
And there WAS A LOT OF WEED where I was sitting.
Hmmm... maybe that's why the crowd WASN'T that "energetic"??
I think the band picked up on it early and busted out some slow jams on the encores... Footsteps, Inside Job.
The floor may not have been jumping all night but section 18 sure as hell was! Great energy tonight! Thrilled with the set list. Kept thinking throughout (take note nutjobs) that if you could only see one show, who cares what preceded it, who cares what's to follow, all that matters is the here and now and in the here and now that show kicked my ass. Thanks as always to Pearl Jam for putting on an amazing show. I'm thankful for seeing more than one show this tour, but every now and again it's nice to remember when it was all about the present tense. Peace and see you on Thursday!
dude i was sec 18 row 1
we were rocing the fuck out
i post on the board of a band that doesn't exsist anymore .......i need my head examined.......
Great show! Great poster too, I always wondered what the insides of Mike looked like. I was at the 4 Philly shows, and a few shows before that, yet still heard 8 or 9 songs I've never heard before. Beautiful.
The show was great, #14 for me and I'm pretty sure my first Of the Girl, great setlist, just seemed like something was missing from some of the crowd, I don;t know if it was because of the weeknight or what? Lots of people bitching about not enough songs they knew in the lobby. I would have to say if that was in fact the venue that turned the lights off early at Indifference, I hope the band doesnt play there again, between that, the $40!!!! parking, and the freaking high end like VIP areas, it certainly didnt make for a great vibe. That being said, well worth the drive from Philly, last row in section 17 was rocking for sure!!
"Stone (Gossard, Pearl Jam guitarist) is barely a guy, anyway. [Laughs] He's not a dude. He wears flip-flops onstage."
Another great show tonight. Finally home after leaving Boston this morning. So glad my friend colorsblend won the lottery and that I got to spend the show with vedhead27 who was out of control celebrating her 50th show.
Will write more in a bit, but still on a great PJ high after another great show!
Any night spent in the company of PJ is a great night IMO...loved the show, really loved footsteps and in hiding...can't wait for thursday
btw- how do people start exiting while the band is still on the stage playing??? I will never understand that!!
When I know it's the last song, I often move from my seats on the floor and walk up to watch from the top of the lower bowl. I like seeing the crowd with the house lights up and I kind of soak it in. When the band's done, I move to the exit. Depending on the venue, this can make a huge difference in how quickly you get out.
Let me ge it out of the way: The show was fantastic and the setlist was incredible. But the crowd was definately weak. I was about 20 rows from the stage in Sec B and Ive never been in such a bad fanclub section. People sitting? Ive never seen anyone sit in row 15 or so or that close to the stage. On the boot you'll hear Eddie come out at the beginning of the first encore, "Its a little quiet out there. You still here?" That pretty much sums up the crowd. Yes, at times the energy was good. The band definately deserved better. But, of a girl, brain of j, immortality, alone, brother, footsteps, once, in hiding, leatherman, watch tower, etc all incredible. Im officially done critiquing setlists: I was at Hartford and while I didnt like the setlist, the energy of the crowd and the band made the show so much better.Tonight, the setlist blew Hartfords away but the crowd was embarassing at times. (Like someone posted, Im not there to see the crowd Im there for the band but 1) people are asking about the crowd so I'll comment and 2) a crowd can't ruin a show for me but it definately can make it better. Enjoy MSG you lucky bastards

Loved the start to the show tonight...... ALONE and IMMORTALITY six songs in? WOW!!! Really a cool show with Footsteps in the encore
Incredible set -- finally got Immortality.
The main set was very strong -- Of the Girl, Alone, Brother, Immortality, Glorified G, Brian of J -- it just kept on coming!
You Are was the icing on the cake. Jersey Girl was another highlight.
Very strong show

Great. Yes.
Sucks to read that the crowd was bad in some parts, but Section 16 was going nuts, at least where I was.
Caught Mikey's pick too...

Loved getting Brother and You Are. And Footsteps was perfect.
I agree about the floor, they looked like heavy stones... Section 10 was pretty good, a lot more movement and cheering.
Thanks Pearl Jam for yet another kick-ass show!! Can't wait for MSG.
