and he lost the no hitter and the game in the 10th on a homerum. still pitched spectacular.eeriepadave said:Rich Hill has a no hitter in the ninth (had a perfect game going into the ninth). Game is scoreless though.

That had to be a huge bummer for Hill. Perfect thru 8, team can't score, then his defense fucks up perfection in the 9th. Then, of course, losing the no-no and the game in the 10th.
Does he still get credit for a no-hitter since he gave up nothing thru 9?

That's crazy. Regulation is 9 innings. Should count, in my opinion.igotid88 said:

I just read that it was his first complete game since 2006. He lost that one as well.
EDIT: Just looked up that last complete game. It was called after 5 innings and the Cubs were losing 4-2. So, really, a complete game statistically, but not a complete 9-inning game.

Miggy has always been a but if a jackwagon. Was happy to see him start the fight and then swing and miss, badly. The love he receives is the love that is saved0

i didn't mind them too much actually. Phills were ok. granted there were some bad ones like Arizona, Miami, Houstontempo_n_groove said:I give MLB a big fat F for the uniforms. As usual Florida Marlins have the ugliest damn ones...
Also Stanton hits #50. If Hoskins were playing at the beginning of the year he would have more than him though

I'm all for the changing of the game and the evolution of it but it's just sacrilege to have any name on the back of a Yankees jersey.eeriepadave said:

First in NL since Fielder, right? 10 seasons ago? We've gone 10 seasons without a 50 HR hitter in the NL!tempo_n_groove said:Oh and yes on Stanton and hitting 50! He will get to 60 by years end!!!
Considering Bonds only ever did it once in his career, I guess I shouldn't be all that shocked.

So if everyone is "clean" then why are the balls exiting stadiums at an all time high?
Baseballs are juiced is what I am hearing!0 -
Yeah it just seemed so commonplace for a while that to hear 10 years had gone without was a little surprising. Been a couple (literally) of guys in the AL do it in the meantime. No one has hit 60 since Bonds (73) & Sosa (64) in 2001. He could very well end up with 60+.tempo_n_groove said:

The seem-heads were saying the Balls were juiced in the early 90's. My friend & I use to laugh because we said the players were juiced. We knew about steroids in the late 70's/early 80's & we are around the same age as those players. So, are the players juicing again & ahead of the testing? Who knows. Just like we don't know for sure about the baseballs. Are they testing the baseballs?0

In the late 90's when balls were jumping over the fence, (espn was it?) tested the balls and they bounced more. The parks were also shrinking at that time too.cutz said:The seem-heads were saying the Balls were juiced in the early 90's. My friend & I use to laugh because we said the players were juiced. So nowadays I think that the batter is just far more superior than a pitcher.
He can dig in the batters box without fear of recourse from the pitcher. Hell, a pitcher throws inside he gets hit with a warning now. So a batter has to worry only about a strike...
I actually want the mound raised so pitchers have more of a chance. I'm sure I'm in the minority when I say I love a 1-0 pitchers duel?

Right there with you. Give me an under 3 hour 1-0 pitchers duel over a 4 hour 10-7 game any day of the week.tempo_n_groove said:
