Seriously though, he is killing it now.

a couple of things concern me with Jeter running the Marlins. First. The fact that one day he might have to fire Mattingly.  And if the Marlins win a World Series. If they had pitching. They could be contenders. Mattingly won't get the credit.

Mattingly isn't getting any credit in LA right now so I do see your point.

mattingly will be a pedestrian manager, wherever he goes. if he hangs around long enough, he may get better.

I don't think he gets any credit. he could've stayed in L A. and been a puppet. And sure he would be enjoying much more success. But I think it's more satisfying if you have more of your input in a successful team.
