The layoff is dumb. Why make a big fuss about playing 5 games in 5 days in the LCS or whatever it was and all this talk about rushing the postseason to get all the games in....

Then they take a week off?!
Because the schedule for World Series is set ahead of time and they didn't anticipate the Phils winning in 5 and the Yankees getting spanked in 4.   I know the NHL does the same thing with the Stanley Cup Finals where dates to start the Finals are pre-determined and they go from there so if the conference finals end early they wait.   Kind of annoying but honestly as a Phillies fan glad for the few days to recharge the batteries. These games have been so intense they wear me out just watching.

    Predictions!

    I got Astros in 6.
I'm not making predictions.  Want Philly to win, for my wife and kid being fans, for my neighbors and all of the people around to be happy.  I'd love it if this was a classic back and forth series.

I'm in the same boat, I'll be rooting for the Phills though. I do think they have a good shot at winning though. I doubt they'll get swept.

Definitely pulling for Houston (shocker!) - I think it'll go 6 or 7 games & hope that Houston wins it all. Really hoping that it's a fun series.

lol, I thought Dodgers were taking it this year so...
Edit: and my pipe dream was Mariners upsetting the Astros and my other Pipe dream was Padres pitching was going to out duel the Phillies.

The damn Phillies really got hot.

The Astros making the Yankees their baby was something else I did not see coming.  50 k's by the yanks?  jeeze.

I don't know if anyone hated the powder blue road jerseys but they were clearly out of style and looked like something to wear playing on astroturf, which people were sick of, and they were associated with the losing Steve Jeltz teams. I do hate that they are used for home games now. WTF - just wear them on the road. This is the home jersey:

PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES 1980s Majestic Cooperstown Home Jersey Customized Any Name Numbers - Custom Throwback Jerseys

When I was growing up the Astros had tamed down their stripes and for some reason wore the same uniforms every game - which had cool stripes but they were still kind of boring. When I saw the 1980 NLCS highlights during rain delays I always thought those crazy stripes on the home jerseys were pretty cool.

Hard to imagine a more successful uniform redesign than the White Sox moving to silver & black in the 90s. We were in Chicago in 2010 and they still had a giant "2005 World Champions" banner on their stadium to troll the Cubs fans.
