  • If that turns out to be true, Reds will (or should) cut him. I am suspect just reading what we see. He is a big dude and if he choked her I think it would be obvious, there would be signs. (He is not just tall he is ripped) He does have a history of being an emotional headcase though so it would not shock me that he is a beater.
Don't believe they will accept it if he is shown to have done this though. Arguing is one thing...choking your gf/baby mama/any woman is another and should not be tolerated.
Will wait to see what other info they turn up.

Not justifying anything, but the police responded and said there were no visible marks. He did shoot a hand gun 8 times in his garage.

Yeah that is why I held off from laying the hate down on him for domestic violence. If he choked her it seems there should have been marks.
Shooting a gun inside your house (garage) is obviously the sign of an idiot. Guy is supremely talented and fun to watch but the Reds do not need him. Really sour that they cannot trade him for young talent which they do need because he is a fool.
Hope he did not hit on his lady. That is unforgivable to me.

D backs serious? Couldn't that package get Fernandez?

D backs serious? Couldn't that package get Fernandez?

6-17 with a 3.02 ERA? that would seem hard to do.

    fuck the d-bags. fuck TLR.

  • Fuck the dbags. They will be a lot better but I still don't know if it will be enough after all the dominos fall.

Plus now they have set themselves up for a financial crisis in 3 seasons. Most of their team is starting arbitration and will start getting a lot more expensive. Most of the new TV deal money is tied up in Greinke and won't be there to help. In the same offseason you will have Goldscmidt become a FA, Pollock either an FA or in the last year of arbitration and Miller now as an FA. Good for them for now but this will be short lived.

maybe MLB will bail them out like they did in 2001

  • Giants checked in on Fernandez and were told it would take Duffy, Panik, Beede (our top pitching prospect), Parker (he of the 5 homers in his first 9 at bats) plus a couple of other prospects. Giants smartly walked away. I have a feeling D*dgers end up including Seager and Arias plus Puig and land him.

the nearly universal feeling is that the dbags got hosed in the miller trade. wouldn't be the first dumb trade they've made.

I think that's a pretty substantial package. The Marlins are very unrealistic. We are talking about 1 guy who has already had a tommy john surgery. I don't think they'll do better than that and no chance the Dodgers give up Seager for him.

Sounds like because he didn't accept it quickly enough. Can't imagine anyone else is going to give him that.

That hurts, coming from a fan base that booed their own team after they overachieved more than their fan could've hoped for and and earlier in the year booed their RoY in his debut.

That's a lot for Heyward. But I guess by the time contract ends that will be the minimum salary

I think it's a steal. Basically the ellsbury contract but he's 4 years younger at the time of the contract, especially if he opts out

  • What's so funny is that most of the Cardinals fans on there are making references to him leaving STL for the money. Reports are that he was offered 200 million by both the Cardinals and the Nationals. His 8 year deal with the Cubs is 8 years/184 million. The guy left STL foe 16 million less.

Funnier still.....the Cub fans that think he based his choice on winning, and not betting that he'll get a bigger deal in 3 years.

Plenty of justification going on both sides. It was just a better deal than other teams offered, for somebody with Heywards potential.
