The Giants played beautiful small ball the entire series.

Can't wait until next season! Maybe my Mariners can leave the basement.

you need to understand...our bullpen was very unreliable...Leyland did not have a lot of choices he obviously trusted. Coke pitched his ass off in the playoffs...pitching was not our problem...scoring 6 runs in 4 games was the problem...getting shut out twice in the WS was the problem.

I also doubt Coke was out of gas ... Leyland knows how much his pitchers have left and can give ... nobody in Detroit's bullpen do I consider lights out ... so for Coke to give up only 1 run in the entire post season was awesome.

Detroit just got be beat ... the giants hit better ... pitched better ... most importantly they played better defence ... and did the fundamentals better.

oh ... for sure the bats didn't come through ... and i guess you have to roll the dice at that stage with pitching ... but from what i could tell - it looked like he was out of gas ... threw a lot of balls up and away ...

ultimately ... the offense didn't come through ... and watching arguably the best hitter in the AL take a called 3rd strike to end the WS was pretty brutal ...

Leyland does know his pitchers ... and I really believe leaving Coke out there gave us the best chance ... and with the top of the order coming up in the bottom half ... he's just hoping for a run.

it's tough for those 3 - 4 hitters when the guys in front of you aren't getting on ... pitchers don't have to give you anything good to hit ... I was more disappointed in Fielder of any of the Tigers, he did not hit well at all.

The Giants played a heck of a WS series and deserve to be WS Champions ... unlike '06, the tigers could potentially be better ... Victor Martinez will be back.

of course we are ... why wouldn't we be ... with only 2 weeks left in the season we didn't think we would get in too the playoffs ...we ended up in the WS ... so even though we didn't win it all we were where every AL team wants to be.

obviously by the fuck u you must be be one of the classier giants fans ;):D:lol::lol::lol:

please accept my apology. I see I posted that at 11 minutes past midnight...by that point, I was drinking whisky. all your players and especially leyland handled the defeat with class. that said, watching the triple crown winner look at strike 3 sure was a nice way to end it ;)

I've thought this before......and been wrong......but I can't believe there will be many more huge, multi-year deals given out. they're just about always a mistake and don't lead to championships.

then again, as long as boras and the yankees are around....

Which is why it will be a damn shame if Miami takes A Fraud off their hands. The Yankees made that bad deal, now they need to deal with it. Don't bail them out Miami, you won't be good with or without A Fraud.

I agree with you. However I do think that salaries will increase in the short term. Instead of teams offering these 7,8,9 ,10 year deals for 20 million a year I think we may see more 3 and 4 year deals at 25 million per. Just a thought.

As far as the Yankees situation goes. Let's not anyone get fooled. Yes, there are trying to be fiscally responsible but if worse comes to worse and they really can't find a taker for ARod and feel they need to not have him on the roseter next season they could very easily stroke a check and pay his entire salary. So for people to really thinks this handcuffs the team is kind of living in a dream world.

I was thinking the same thing. What kind of clown wears a Marlins jersey to a Giants-TIgers WS game??
  • Like the White Sox move re-signing Peavy for 2 more years. He stayed healthy last year...hopefully he can keep it up. Not sure how I feel about the Sox picking up the $9.5M option on Gavin Floyd. One of the most frustrating pitchers in the league and not sure he is worth $9.5M.

    Cardinals promote John Mabry
    Updated: November 5, 2012, 5:40 PM ET
    Associated Press

ST. LOUIS -- The Cardinals have promoted John Mabry to hitting coach as the replacement for Mark McGwire, who told St. Louis he won't return after three seasons and appears headed to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The 42-year-old Mabry, whose 14 major league seasons included three stints with St. Louis, was the assistant hitting coach last season.

LOL, so much for Jose Reyes being the savior of the Marlins.

The Toronto Blue Jays may have gotten the pitching help they've been looking for.

According to reports, the Jays have acquired starting pitchers Mark Buehrle and Josh Johnson, as well as shortstop Jose Reyes and catcher John Buck from the Miami Marlins.

In exchange, the Marlins recieve pitcher Henderson Alvarez and shortstops Yunel Escobar and Adeiny Hechavarria.

Left-handed pitching prospect Justin Nicolino will also be sent to the Marlins in the deal.
And so you see, I have come to doubt

    I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.
