    what an ass....

Valentine didn't mince words Friday when asked whether there was a particular area of his last-place team he'd most like to improve.

"Are you kidding? This is the weakest roster we've ever had in September in the history of baseball," he said. "It could use help everywhere."

must make the guys feel good.

I think he's getting his parting shots in before the pink slip comes. I really don't think Bobby will be managing in MLB anymore. This is his last gig.

I agree. He's a DEAD-MAN WALKING, and he knows it.

Sounds like there are some pretty stupid details to these wild card games that no one has really thought about yet. Before the game you have to set a 25 man roster that WILL NOT carry over the the DS. So teams don't need to carry starting pitchers on their roster. This game could be absurd.

Ha, yeah, this seems pretty stupid. Your wild card roster should carry over to the next series aside from injuries.

What????? Absurd is a perfect way to describe how these games could be.

Understandable, but it really does make no sense that one division has 6 teams and one has 4.

true, but they should have moved one of the newer teams to the AL. it just doesn't sit well with me at all.

The Rockies would have made more sense. Oh well...I have to just get over it. At least I'll be able to see them play in Seattle.

WHat happened with the talk of them bringing the DH to National League parks and making the pitcher hit in American League parks during interleague play. Did that die?

Why would they do that? This would keep the different rules of each league but kill the tradition. Sounds like the worst idea possible to me.

I'm biased toward Mike Trout(saw him play when he was in HS). But, if Cabrera wins the TRIPLE CROWN?

I think Braun is having a better season this year, then compared to last year, and he won the MVP last year. Brewers make the playoffs i think he's a lock to win it again.

some writers have said it would be anyone EXCEPT braun. most people think he slipped the steroid ban on a technicality.

Jeter in the AL. Yes I am biased but he has had a great 2012 and I truly feel without him this year the Yankees would have totally fell apart...not that the season is over by any sense yet though.
