I am loving what's going on with the yanks. if sabathia gets shelled tomorrow all hell is going to break loose in NY.

I hope tampa, oakland, and baltimore all make the playoffs

Chipper Jones told a great story about Maddux on Dan Patrick today.

    1. After he golfed he would go to the locker room, wipe his ass or balls with a sanitary wipe and then put the wipe back in the original package like it was new. He would just sit there and wait for someone to use the wipe on their face/hands.

    2. After a game he pitched, he would take his dirty underwear, turn them inside out and then get dressed.

I've always loved Maddux. But now I want to have a few beers with him.

I was gonna go to Saturday's game and pay my respects to Larry one final time, but then I realized I have ownership who won't put money into the team so why should I.

I have NEVER liked the braves (sorry, SVRD) but.........it's kind of fucked up that they have the first wild card wrapped up and have played well all year. they're 18 games over .500 but aren't going to catch the nats.....meanwhile, a bunch of mediocre teams are fighting for WC #2 and one of them will face the braves in a one game do-or-die.

I know bud ( ) wanted to place a premium on winning the division, but it's not going to happen in the braves case. they should have just gotten rid of the "WC can't play first round vs. division opponent" rule and had ONE WC play the team with the best record....because, as it is, the braves are going to play the cards, d**gers or phillies and they ALL have a better one game pitcher than the braves......phillies may have four

I'd be curious to know what the Phillies record is since the trade deadline. They would have to be up there as having the best record i would think.

  • The A's have a tough remainder of the season, 3 against Baltimore,3 against Detroit, 3 against New York, 3 against Seattle, and 7 against Texas. If they survive the rest of their schedule they should be ready for the playoffs.
