As long as they don't use Lou Malnati bats.  The explosive diarrhea shooting out of the end of the bat on each swing would be nasty
Malnati pies will replace the oversized bases. Don't slide head first!

This is really impressive. Julio Rodriguez sets MLB record for most hits in a 4 game span with 17.

yankees had the same number in 4 games. mike may have even gotten one of them.

Any thoughts on the bigger bases? Personally I can't remember seeing this many guys getting thrown out on the bases my whole baseball watching life.

It's supposed to enhance the runner not the defense.

We are up in SB's from last year at about 100 more per league w a month to play.  The league will still be off the marks of 1600 and 1700 SB's from other years' highs.

^^^^ this is why we can’t compare eras. can you imagine how many bags rickey henderson, etc. would have with only two(?) throw overs and bigger bases? this is why acuna is going to go 40/50 or whatever.

that said, we can say barry bonds > babe ruth.

Search Elly and Ohtani.  Dela Cruz pokes ohtani jokingly to see if he's real.  Two fine specimens in the game right there.

I can't remember who it was, but I was watching MLB Network and he said that Trout was feeling sore still, and with Ohtani going down for pitching, that it wasn't worth it trying to play.

    Strasburg to retire.

Mets retiring Strawberry and Gooden's numbers. I mean they were good but worthy of having their numbers retired? I don't think so.

Since signing a $245M contract, he pitched 33 innings

that make mike’s contract look good.

Nope.  They are on the hook for all of it.  They did not insure the contract.

Seems like it's more complicated than that. Maybe something like he will get the money but they won't have the payroll tax or luxury tax repercussions or whatever.

The Cubs just played a 12 game stretch against 4 of the worst teams in baseball. 10 of the games were within 2 runs. 6 of those were 1-run games. I’m glad we came out 8-4 in that span but it could’ve easily been 1-11.

Brewers series starts today. 4 games back so we need a clean sweep.
