I know there are about 10 topics with specific teams, so this one can get the other 20 or so teams that don't have a page.

Congrats to Dallas Braden of the Oakland A's on pitching a perfect game (19th ever in MLB). I never heard of him though.

Proof that you need run support to get WINS .. Lincecum won't win 20. Although he may deserve to win 25.

Rangers just completed a 4 game sweep of the Royals. I know that isn't saying much but still.

Braden is the guy that called out A-Rod on pitcher's mound etiquette right?

I'm already sick of baseball season. My White Sox have looked like shit so far. It's always a long summer when you know your team most likely won't compete for the division or wild card...

Though he may be 40 years old now, sometimes "The Kid" needs to sleep.

Seattle Mariners star Ken Griffey Jr. missed a chance to enter an unspecified game last week as a pinch hitter because he was asleep in the clubhouse, according to a report from the Tacoma News Tribune.

When pressed following the game as to why he had not used the left-handed slugger as a pinch hitter, Mariners manager Don Wakamatsu was evasive.

But according to two unnamed younger Seattle players who are both fond of Griffey, the future Hall of Famer had fallen asleep.

"He was asleep in the clubhouse," one player told the Tribune. "He'd gone back about the fifth inning to get a jacket and didn't come back. I went back in about the seventh inning -- and he was in his chair, sound asleep."

The second player, who is reported to know Griffey better, claims the scuffling slugger has had difficulty sleeping at home.

"He doesn't sleep well at night, he's away from his family, he's comfortable in the clubhouse," he told the Tribune. "They could have awakened him."

Griffey is batting .208 with just five RBIs for a last-place Mariners club that has struggled mightily in trying to get runs across the plate this season.

That's interesting, especially when you take into consideration that article on mlb.com that claims that the Mariners might drop him.

    I agree he won't win 20.
He is 4 and 0 and should be 7 and 0 but the bullpen blew the last three games.
    Amazing player to watch.

I think Chuck Armstrong and Howard Lincoln can convince Jr to just retire. I am sure Jr can tell that it's probably time.

some awful ninth innings tonight by the home team in late night baseball. First in Colorado, Manny Corpas has Ryan Howard down 0-2, so what does he do? He goes up and in and hits them and a 5-5 game turns into a 9-5 Phillies victory. Then in Anaheim, Brian Fuentes has two strikes on Aybar and Jason Bartlett and can't retire them, turning a 4-1 victory into a 4-4 game.

As a life long fan of your division rival, I still have to say that it will be a sad day when Jr. retires. The guy has never been mentioned (to my knowledge) in all the steroid talk and I've really enjoyed watching him play over the last 20 years.

And in other news, only the Rangers could fuck up a sale so badly that the league considers seizing the team. What a mess this franchise is. And the sorry part is they actually look pretty good this year.

Crazy game last night. Lost 16-10 to the Blue Jays.

Brett Cecil has only started two games against the Rangers. The first game's final was 18-10. Last night was 16-10. He is 1-0 against us. WTF??

Rich Harden sucks ass. He started off with 13 straight balls. Fuck him.

There's a reason the Blue Jays lead the league in home runs and that reason is steroids, Texas should look into them.

Long way to go...season isn't even a quarter of the way over yet. The Nats pitching, even with strasburg, won't hold up. As a phils fan, the team I'm still most worried about in the division is the braves
