The Giants are setting me up for a major heart break. They are playing so damn well this season my expectations are going up. This is the first time since Bonds that I have seen them score with such ease. Sandoval and Pence are finally getting going and Belt will be back in a few weeks. Scutaro hasn't even played yet. Hicks has been doing a nice job covering for him but he isn't Scutaro (provided he fully recovered from injury). Getting more than 3 runs for them has been such a chore these last two or three seasons, including the 2012 WS team. Nice change and I hope Sabean wins executive of the year if Morse and Hudson keep playing this well.

don't sweat it. they're for real..........and remember, it's an even numbered year.

I would appreciate your analysis in the GIANTS thread.

    the Twins.....

they have a nice new ballpark and put a crap product on the field......I couldn't name a player other than the grossly overpaid Mauer.....and they keep bringing gardenhire back even tho the best he has EVER done is get to the playoffs and lose. when looking at the tour cities, St. Paul is the ONE with an MLB team that we KNOW will have no playoffs conflict.

Minnesota sports in general kinda suck.

Hopefully Posey can feel better...his numbers will likely come up if he can stay healthy. They seems like a fun team this year.

Giants are for real this season. 7-3 against the Dodger, 5-2 (or something like that) against ATL and just took 3 of 4 in St Louis going up against the top of their pitching staff. They can beat the playoff teams on a consistent basis which is a really good sign for the post season. My prayers now are that they can stay healthy plus get Belt and Scutaro back at full strength.

    Expectations growing larger.

Posted it in the Yankees thread but doesn't really belong there, don zimmer died. Sad news.

Sweeney murti tweeted that zimmer met babe Ruth, played with Jackie Robinson and coached Derek jeter. Not sure jeter belongs in that sentence but still pretty incredible

Why? Because he made one UNBELIEVABLE throw?

I think you have to give Cespedes a lot of credit for that throw.

I played baseball from tee ball to college. That Crespedes throw was amazing. Sure you'd see random throws like that in practice, but in a game? Unreal. And I'm a Rangers fan! But great ball is great ball.

Anyone going to the All-Star Game? Just won a trip to the ASG in a two-day MLB dot com fantasy baseball competition that had nearly 18K participants the other day. Really excited. Never been to Target Field before, let alone Minneapolis except for a connecting flight.

The MLB is such a joke. This game decides home field advantage for the world series, yet Jeter is a starter. I have no problem with the fans voting for starters, but the whole world series home field advantage thing is probably the dumbest thing in all of sports.

And Chris Sale gets snubbed...I guess 8-1 with a 2.16 ERA isn't good enough.

    Nice going! =D>

I love MN; target field is not quite as nice as the top tier of new stadiums but it's decent....the twins are another matter.

yes.....deciding home field advantage is dumb......bud selig is dumb.

Thanks! I'm pretty ecstatic about it all. Glad to see four Dodgers make it onto the NL roster as well. Hope that Kershaw starts. He deserves it. Target Field will be the 12th MLB ballpark I've visited. I've seen the classics, so I'm looking forward to seeing a newer ballpark.

I agree with the WS home field advantage but I guess they need some way to spice it up and make it competitive. Still think WS home field should go to the team with the better record so that it makes a team's regular season efforts worthwhile.

I'm still fascinated by the spectacle of the All-Star Game and have been ever since I was a kid and Bo Jackson starred in the game in Anaheim. This will actually be my third ASG after 2010 and '11. Can't wait!

    :))

It's unreal how dumb it is. I really hope that whoever takes over for Selig gets rid of this nonsense their first day in office.

Home field is most definitely dumb as hell.

This isn't the best article ever written, but I largely agree, obviously
