So we're all agreeing it's Marlins/Angels for the 2012 World Series?

hell no ... the FA's this year are not worth what they signed for ... not even close ...

the added wild card spot makes a diff tho ... i don't see the marlins beating the phils for the NL East ... the Angels are in the same division as the Rangers ... so, they are gonna be looking wild card too ...

I don't think they've added the 2nd Wild Card for 2012 as yet. It's definitely going in by 2013 - but it's undecided for 12.

Sounds like the Marlins offered $275 million. Wow.

I have seen many people saying Pujols will be wearing a Angels hat in Cooperstown. I don't know if I agree with that. Thoughts?

haha, true. From what I have read from Cards fans though, that is one of the things that seems to be most upsetting to them.

All depends. I think of Reggie White when I'm thinking of this - in Philly he's thought of as an Eagle, but I'd say country-wide he's seen as a Packer; about equal playing time with both teams. BTW, what team was he inducted into Canton with?

really? they're not upset they lost the centerpiece of their team but rather upset as to what cap he will wear into the hall?:lol:

Yeah, thats what I read. Just wouldn't include a no-trade clause. Rumored to have offered $100 million to Wilson too.

Yeah, that's a good comparsion. I think of him as a Packer. I don't have a clue which team he went in as.

Pujols will most likely have 11 seasons with the Cards and 10 with the Angels. The 11 with the Cards will most likely be better than the 10 with the Angels, unless he pulls a Barry Bonds. I would say he has to go in as a Card.

Yeah, I saw 6/95 for Wilson. They have to be pretty pissed right now.

Between that lineup AND that pitching rotation I wouldn't speak too soon.

No doubt, that is a legit rotation. Best in the AL.

i think baseball is the only sport that does it that way with a player going in with a certain team.

The Angels offense is all Pujols though. The Rangers scored almost 200 more runs than the Angels last year. They were a pretty weak offense. No one batted .300. No one hit more than 30 HRs.

Jared Weaver is awesome and Dan Haren is pretty good but doesn't scare me as a Rangers fan. I know CJ Wilson from all of his years here being a douche and making everything always about him all the time. He's great in the regular season but absolutely terrible when it counts. If you want someone to shut down Oakland in August, he's your guy.

The rest of the rotation is who? Ervin Santana? Big deal. Who else?

Pujols is 31 or whatever and the greatest player in the game right now. But let's see where he is in a couple of years. The Angels still can't hit and won't be able to protect him in the lineup.

The Rangers basically swapped CJ for Feliz and added Joe Nathan and I bet they aren't done. Napoli and Beltre were added after the New Year last year. I wouldn't be shocked at them trading for a SP along the lines of Matt Garza.

So you have basically the same Rangers team vs. an Angels team that added one bat (albeit the biggest bat you could want) and CJ Wilson. That will not make up a 10+ game deficit and -200 run differential. GIve me the Rangers in 2012 and watch me laughing at the Angels trying to unload a 35-year-old Pujols in 3 years like the Rangers did A-Rod several years ago.

That most athletes don't have their best seasons at almost 40+

Yeah, at this point I would agree but we'll see where Pujols ends up. We are talking about 2 of the best ever though. Pujols has the edge (for now) in batting average while Bonds has him in OBP.

it was more bout getting the arm and getting rid of a locker room cancer. pagan wasn't well liked in the clubhouse and was in terry collins doghouse all season. hes a great player when he wants to show up.

    oh, great :x

andres is just the opposite....very well liked

altho 2010 was probably a total anomaly
he also looked very lost in the field last year. made some plays that were wtf moments. could be he was just dogging it to get traded.

10 year deals are absolutely ridiculous for any baseball player, let alone one that's 32. The teams/ owners need to put the clamp down. If I was an owner I wouldn't give any offer over 5 years, it's way too big of a risk. Most of these long term deals never work out. It's a shame these agents are ruining the game with this ridiculous contracts.
