Saw that, lots of well known people getting involved with groups. Magic, Larry king, Cuban clearly wants them

Not suprised at all, Loria seems like a complete dirtball. We'll see what comes of this though. Wonder if any potential fines could scare them off Reyes being as cheap as they are.

The deal was one of the worst ever down here for the citizens of S Florida.....the team continues to collect revenue sharing yet reluctant to spend on free agents. No sweet offers just fluff to make it appear they REALLY want to fill that 37,000 seat stadium. BTW all that money spent on the stadium and it only seats that many if so that's smaller than Fenway Park?

This Darvish situation is bizarre. Yesterday they said he would be posted after the winter meetings and that he is a pain in the ass and wants the biggest posting fee ever and now his dad says he may not be posted until January, which I would think helps the Yankees chances since most teams will have their budgets set by then.

So I guess that Jose Reyes' jersey will be half-priced this week. A lot of chatter saying he is signing for six years, 111 million with the Marlins.

Yeah, just saw that it looks to be a done deal for 106 over 6 without a no-trade clause.

Winter meetings are here. Always a great week.

Sounds like the Marlins are still interested in Pujols. I can't see it happening but obviously they were serious about spending.

Dodgers looking to lock up Kershaw long term. Hoping some of these Yankees kids turn out well since it's getting harder and harder to find pitching on the market.

    Pujols?
  • Manny Ramirez applied for reinstatement. Does he really think anyone will be dumb enough to sign him? Between his 2nd failed test (3rd, counting the penalty-free "anonymous" testing in 2003) and his domestic violence arrest, this hasn't exactly been a banner year for the guy's reputation. When you add in his total lack of defense and his willingness to quit on his team when he's not happy I can't imagine a GM who values his job trying to convince his team's owners and fans that he's a good signing--even if it was to a non-guaranteed minor league deal with a Spring Training invite.

Supposedly, his suspension will be reduced to 50 games because he sat out all of last season. I can't understand why MLB would reduce his suspension. He's the one who ran away when he got caught cheating again, why reward him by cutting his suspension?

it's a shame he got in just a few days after the one-yr anniversary of his death but his family can rejoice.

actually ... i'm not a fan of the top tier FA's ... i never think you can get the ROI on them unless you are a big market, money is no object team ... which the jays are not ...

i'm hoping for a little ... marcum for lawrie magic ... we need another starter and a closer ... i'm ok starting the season with our current crop of bats ...

    Ahh, yeah, we have discussed.

haha yeah? Shaun Marcum back? Would be interesting. Edit: Nevermind, I am slow.

Really? I am suprised. I think I would sign Fielder over Pujols given the age and money though.
