i disagree ... playoff hockey is the best thing going ... especially with the parity in the nhl - i don't have a problem with that many teams making the playoffs as they all have a shot ... sometimes the difference between 4th place and 10th is like 6 pts ...
as long as the teams making the playoffs have a legitimate shot - i'm all for more teams ...
Grady Sizemore is staying in Cleveland on a 1-year deal for $5 million with an additional $4 million in incentives based on plate appearances.
which is dumb as shit, because they could have just picked up his option for $9M. as it is, they're gonna pay $9.5 (with his 2012 buyout)
Actually it was a pretty smart move. The incentives don't kick in until he reaches 450 plate appearances and he probably hasn't done that in a few years. Also, 500k of the incentives are if he wins the comeback award. If that happens, then I'm sure they'll be fine with paying him a little bit extra.

Apparantly Darvish is getting a divorce and that's why the posting has been held up. They want to settle based on his salary last year and not the $50+ mil he is about to make. There's a chance he may stay in Japan if they can't settle.
I haven't seen the terms yet but I'm guessing that it's a cheap deal so they aren't risking much and he's getting a chance to show that he's healthy and no longer stinks and can get back to his 2009 form. If he can, he'll be a good trade chip at the deadline or a good replacement for Soria if he falls into any slumps like he did at times last year.
broxton is a really good move for KC. I think they might surpirse some people next year. Gordon is better, Hosmer is a beast...who knows, they might play .500 ball?

The Royals signed Broxton to a 1-year deal pending a physical. I'm assuming he won't be closing.
Seems strange. Royals have some flexibility with Soria now, I guess.
$4 million deal with an extra $1 in incentives, so not all that cheap for a reliever. That was exactly Broxton's mind set from what I have read, get a one year deal, prove yourself again and cash in.
Mariners going after Fielder. Not gonna happen but pretty interesting.
i have a feeling he'll sign with the cubs. not too far from milwaukee, old bench coach is there...it makes sense.
I could see it. At the moment they sound more interested in Pujols than Fielder though. I think Pujols will stay put and Fielder will land with the Cubs or Nationals.

I love that guy. Sorry to see him go to the AL. I wish the Mets or Braves would've signed him.

I would have much rather taken broxton and his contract than papelturd and his albatross of a deal
I'd rather have neither of them.

And getting paid for the next 2 years. Took Crane less than a week.
the phillies will miss him.
 Love it.
