  • Not counting stuff from Circuital, I want to hear at least a few of Steam Engine, Bermuda Highway, PWW, The Way That He Sings, I Think I'm Going to Hell, Lowdown, Off the Record, Evelyn, The Bear, O is the One That is Real, and many, many more.

I know I only have a realistic shot of hearing 2-3 of those, but a man can dream. Honestly, I don't care what they play, I just can't wait to see them again.

In good news (at least according to weather.com), the forecast for Sunday has changed from scattered storms to cloudy.

    See ya'll in 48 hours.

edit: so I'm tearing thru the MMJ catalog the last few days and something must have messed up because the last two songs are from my 80s mix (Cutting Crew's "I Just Died in Your Arms Tonight" and Crowded House's "Don't Dream It's Over"). Great songs (especially for karaoke), but they don't belong in this playlist. That's for sure.

    Fenway does karaoke?

  • Looks like they crushed it last night.

Long trip up to Bangor last night/today, with a festival type setting. With a day off on Monday, let's hope they blow it out tomorrow night.

So, I do believe.... Atlantic Beer Gardens is the spot :D
Tho I do have a feeling there may be a grand meet up in the hotel lobby at some point...since it seems all the cool kids are staying @ The Seaport...

Further research shows Patrick had an allergic reaction to a lobster roll. (Still an awesome setlist last night from the mmj quartet) Im hoping for a serious rebound show tonight tho. Maybe, just maybe they were slated to play Cobra last night...they'll just have to make up for that today. And I got $5 on a Steam Engine appearance tonight also... No show tomorrow...party tonight bitches. 8-)

I have an extra pair of tix in Sec. 1 if anyone is in need...shoot me an email or PM. Im trying to get rid of them as soon as I hit ground in Boston

  • Amazing show as always! Great to hear most of the new record live...plus I had never heard Honest Man or Dancefloors before.

That midset series of songs where they all segued into one another was incredible - especially Dondante.

Great to see a bunch of you again. Until next time...

    Cheers!

Wow, what a exhausting couple of days. First seeing MMJ at Kah-Bang was such a unique experience. Shame that Patrick couldn't play, but that made for a really interesting set. Unfortunately they didn't draw the crowd I expected because the market in Bangor is tough. I feel like they could have really won people over if they had been able to play with a full band, but other people loss was my gain.

Not seeing them with Patrick on Saturday just gave me more of an incentive to drive down to Boston on Sunday to see them. Went down by myself and the 4 hour drive took 6 because of traffic. Parked at 7:50, scored a sweet single on the street (section 2, row N, dead center) and they started playing right when I arrived. Unreal show and well worth the trip and the exhaustion of driving back to Portland that night.

Only draw back was I went to the merch stand and saw a poster available. I bought it and was super excited that they still had them available. It was not until I arrived home and unrolled it to give it a closer look that I realized the poster they sold me was from the Merriweather show on Friday. Really pissed me off. No one told me it wasn't the Boston poster and I would definitely not have dropped $30 if I had know. Why the hell would you start selling another shows poster (that didn't sell out) and not inform the buyer correctly? Even talked with the MMJ merchandise guy (who I had met in Bangor the day before) and he didn't say a word. Not cool.

So, if anyone has a spare poster from Boston I would love to get my hands on it.

Otherwise a great pair of shows and a great weekend of MMJ. Hopefully I can meet up with everyone before another show in the near future!

  • Real glad to hear everyone had a blast in Beantown!
We were but stones your light made us stars
  • So I think I'm finally able to compose myself enough to write this. Last night was the best MMJ show I've ever seen. I went to New Years at MSG a few years ago and this was better. They were tighter as a band than any of my past MMJ shows.

Due to a ticketing malfunction, we picked up Mr. LoveBoatAdmiral himself to join us in the party. Glad you could make it buddy. School starts in 3 weeks son.

It was great seeing unlost dogs again. You are wicked fun and I'm glad you're hooked on these guys now.

And Mr. Black Diamond. What can I say? It was a pleasure meeting and talking with you. And your kids are awesome. They have a very cool dad for showing them these amazing bands. Hope they had a blast yesterday. Cheers to you my friend.

Mike? I don't know your board name. Great seein ya again kid. Enjoy Providence.

Finally, Mr. and Mrs. twisted thoughts are two of the coolest and down to earth people I've ever met in my life. Tube is shipped guys.

Anyway, back to the show. As we walked into the venue, I overheard the security guy say "8:15 to 11:00". It Beats 4 U was so awesome. 3 of the first 6 songs were from Z, which made me feel all warm and fuzzy about the night. Mahgeetah kicked ass and Dondante was transcendent (17 minutes by LoveBoatAdmiral's watch). Patrick seemed to be back to 100% and having fun. Tommy was in rare form last night as well. Some people around us during Slow Tune were talking and "taking the slow song off" while I rocked out and got some dirty looks. It's moments like that I live for at concerts. Being that kid. Smokin from Shootin>Run Thru>First Light>TouchMe2>Black Metal>Honest Man all kinda melted into one song at that point. By the time I picked up the pieces of my exploded head, it was Dancefloors and One Big Giant Fn Holiday. Like i say, best MMJ show of the six I've now seen.

Cheers to all who were there last night. It was a beautiful thing.

    Really, really nice post Fenway!

Always outstanding to spend time with you pre and/or post show. I know I'm always going to have fun if you're around.

And you're right _ I am completely, utterly and hopelessly into this band now.:lol::lol: I blame you and Twisted!

Finally meeting Black Diamond in person, well, that was pretty special! And the little diamond chips are a lot of fun, too. Green Circle / Boo Boo / Theovl was around earlier in the afternoon with his family, but they didn't go to the show.

And Mike _ that's MikeTheLurker! Another fun friend to run into. (Hope that Montreal ticket works out for you, my friend _ I was sorely tempted!!!) Nice also to meet LoveBoatAdmiral.

I didn't know enough of MMJ's music to know every single song, but that one gigunda medley in the middle was just not to be believed. And I had learned pretty much everything from Circuital, so I was psyched. One Blowyourmindapartbigfucking Holiday was freaking incredible.

I was at the back, by the tables and chairs. Really nice vibe back there, bunch of people just letting go, guys dancing, so excited at the intro to every song. It was a blast to watch the crowd's reaction from there. There was one dude who just kept dancing across a row of seats _ I'll never forget that. He looked like he was experiencing pure bliss.

Ms. Twisted Thoughts (and Mr. TT as well): Thanks so much, sistah, for the music! ;) And the good times. :D:D:D

Can't wait until these guys come around again...

    Fenway...it's me...Mike...ya know...the lurker!

Great seeing everyone again. My neck and back are still pretty sore from rocking all night! Ears are fine since I wore ear plugs...learned my lesson last year in Portland being next to Carl's stack all night. Couldn't hear right for several days!

Glad everyone enjoyed the show...MMJ is one step below PJ in my book.

    Take it easy everyone.
