You an never win putting one of these lists together, but the following have been listed in the 'Top 6' by Glenn A Baker and his researchers. I think it was Top 5 but Axle got a special mention. Ed should be there, but is not, what's your top five? Remember to use his

Robert Plant
Freddy Mercury
Michael Hutchence
Jon Bon Jovi
Axl Rose
Axl and Bon Jovi are out of my list. Ed is in but it's tough deciding upon a 5th and 6th! Springsteen, Bon Scott i think?

no particular order
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
slide in sideways, BBQ sandwich in one hand, cold beer in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Woo Hoo what a
ride"!
Unknown
1) Morrison (Gotta Love The Doors)
2) Mercury
3) Vedder
4) Daultry
5) Jagger (I am not the biggest Stones fan)
6) Tyler (Aerosmith)
The O2 - Jun 22, 2010 / Odyssey Arena - Jun 23, 2010
R. Plant
R. Daltrey
D. L. Roth
S. Tyler
Only in Australia would you see Michael Hutchence on that list. I'd say the same for Jon Bon Jovi, but I'm afraid he would make the list in NJ. Replace those two and Freddy Mercury with Eddie, Bruce and Bono, then you may have somehting.
Morrison
Vedder
Jagger
Yorke
Daltrey
1.Reznor
2.Jagger
3.Springsteen
4.Farrell
5.Vedder
Vedder's voice didn't stay outstanding for long enough to be considered one of the best. He's good, but most songs include that "cringe" moment.
2) Micheal Stipe
3) James Hetfield
4) Bruce Dickinson
5) Rob Zombie
6) David Bowie
Plant
Clapton
J Garcia
Jagger
Vedder
I enjoy skinny-skiing, going to bullfights on acid...
Ed
Axl
Chris Cornell
Bon Scott
Kurt Cobain
Dublin, Belfast & Werchter 2010
Amsterdam 1 & 2 & Oslo 2012
Hard to whittle it down to five though...
Gotta go with freddie mercury and Jim Morrison. For sure.
Also inclined to put maynard up there, as well as Roger daultry.
For my final pick I think the boss needs to be included.
I would love to throw Ed in there, but I just finished reading 5 against 1 last night and my opinion of Ed is no longer what it once was...
I saw INXS at a few stages of their career and Hutchence was very, very good. He held the audience (esp the women).
In no particular order...
Bono
Jim Morrison
Roger Daltrey
Mick Jagger
and as much as it pains me Kurt Cobain
I'd say being a rockstar isn't all about talent or longevity, but more the aura, the presence... something that sticks with people long after the show has ended or the career is finished, by they a hardcore fan or a casual one.

In my book, you cant be a great frontman unless you have written a good portion of the material and you are not just singing (ala Roger Daughtry)
