So the passage of a few years automatically changes a cold, hard fact? Sorry, can't agree with you there.

You can't be bothered, or you don't have proof? Come on... enlighten me. Now's your chance to prove me wrong.

    Do it.

Redistribution of wealth is the government actually taking all the resources and capital in a society and then redividing it up among the population. The US has never done anything remotely like this... you may not like some programs, but none of these programs come anywhere remotely to this.

And if you somehow think anyone in DC is keeping relations with "good people", I suggest you vote for Mikey Mouse on every election day the rest of your life. Our government is and will be full of politicians who do, say and know every unsavory thing we can imagine and none of them are worth anyone's respect, follow or honor.

Our government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a law-breaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. - Louis Brandeis

Well perhaps that's true of any place or group... some good and some bad.... but collectively, our actions, thoughts or lack of concern aren't anything to be emulated or sought after. And before you jump the gun, let me beat you to the punch... no perhaps other places may not be all that better or have more freedoms or illusion of choice or potential for power.. but with all that said, our nation is pretty much the beacon for self-interest, corporate profiteering and under-minding of any fair, balanced society in which humans are treated as such, and not merely a consumer for products in a society which everything must have a price-tag for exploitation. But don't mind me, I'm sure you'll just classify this as communism or socialism or leftist drivel as you continue to participate in the selling of our souls for someone else's benefit.. by all means enjoy and good riddance America. You are free, don't vote... you are free, buy more goods... you are free... work more, get less.. you are free. Keep repeating it, we are free...and maybe it will stick.

i hate to break it to you but this country has been redistributing the wealth for pretty much ever. take the state of new york for example. the state collects far more taxes than it gets back, the rest is spread around the other 49 states. do you have a problem with this, as well?
    don't compete; coexist

what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?

"I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank." - Barack Obama

Not to mention the redistribution of wealth from the middle and lower classes to the upper, most affluent, class. 30 years of Reaganomics culminating in George W Bush has assured us of that. Destroy the unions, destroy the manufacturing job base, cut taxes to the wealthy to starve the government to the point where "it can be dragged into the bathtub and drowned", thereby eliminating the one threat to the wealthy ruling class.... socialism for the rich.

As Warren Buffet once famously said, "There was a class war, and my class won."
