Count me in for night 2 along with chrislever226! Can't wait

Why don't we do the pre-party at that pub near MSG - you know where we did in in '08?

    Canned Food Drive
We're going back to our roots!! We are accepting all kinds of canned and boxed food & nonperishable items (new, unopened, unused non-perishable) for local city food depository/homeless shelter. For each canned/food item you bring in you will receive one free raffle ticket!!

You sound like you've done all this before, but just in case-

NYC isn't always quite as easy as it sounds like it would be when it comes to donating food.

A few months back I had a bunch of stuff around my apartment, totally nothing werid/expired, just stuff that like my parents bought and I didn't like.

Surprisingly few people wanted my food. Lots of people wanted my money to buy their own food.

I spent some time looking into it online too, then ended up leaving it next to a homeless guy sleeping in an alley. They claim they get 800 cans of expired peaches donated everywhere, i still don't really get it.

Maybe someone traveling can bring the food home with them to some place normal...

  • I feel like Irish Times and Stout NYC are perfect locations. Both should be able to hold a good amount of people for these parties and they are right across the street from the garden.

HOW MANY PEOPLE RSVP'd FOR THURS AND FOR FRIDAY?

I'll see if my old boss at MSG or friends can give me ideas, based on the number of people.

Also, are the pre-parties more for pounding beers, or are you looking for a restaurant with a huge table... or what? Can someone give me the low-down on how these pre-parties go?
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

The pre-parties require more of a big bar setting. We do need tables set aside only to put merchandise on, not to sit at.

And the pre-parties are one of my favorite things about going on tour......given I enjoy the concert too.

What time does this usually start and end? Do people join and leave during that time, or are people usually there for the whole party time?

I've been to a few of these parties but never posted anything before. They are a lot of fun! I will be at MSG 2 definitely, 1 maybe.

Stout is great but it gets really crowded, not sure how much room they would commit to this?
Wanted to make another suggestion - there's a Blarney Stone on 8th ave just south of 31st street that has 2 levels - i went to a christmas party there where the entire top floor was reserved. it has a full bar and a seating area. they might be a good option. if you want me to look into it mesage me, i work 2 blocks away and would be happy to help.
  • Thanks for posting this - I was gonna ask the same. I'd also like to know if you need to be on a guest list and is it only Tenclub card holders or can I bring a friend/recently brainwashed PJ fan? :?:

If I make it to NY - I am there, and I'm totally up for volunteering!

Hey Laura, I don't think that bar we went to after the shows is still there. But yeah, it would have been perfect. I remember it was on 33rd street just down from Blarney Rock. Blarney Rock isn't big enough, and doesn't have food. But it looks like there is a huge bar next door called "Stout NYC" that might work. (it might have taken over the space you were thinking of, it looks slightly familiar to me) It looks huge and it's only maybe two blocks from MSG. Might be worth checking out!

the place where alot of us were, (including you and foxy) was fat annies truck stop.
good times were had there after the folk at blarney rock decided that they did not want a huge group of us decided to go in. Their loss as we were there both nights for quite a while, spending lots of money

    http://www.fatanniestruckstop.com/

Excellent memory!! Laura Fat Annie's rocked, we should try and get that place, they were very accommodating!!

The party usually dies around the time people start leaving for the show. Some leave for the opening act, some stay until the opening act is done......

You do NOT need to be a 10C member or even a fan to come in. EVERYONE is welcome.

BARS IN NYC - SCROLL MAP TO 7TH AND 33RD TO SEE WHAT'S AROUND MSG.

    http://www.newyorkontap.com/subways.asp

Since 20,000 people are coming to the garden, plus the tens-of-thousands of commuters going under MSG to Penn Station, so the bars within a block may be packed even without reservations. You may want to consider one a block or two away.
