I understand why people in NYC who didn't get tixs are pissed off since you live there but i feel i have as much right to be there as any other ten c member.
Good luck to ppl getting tickets at the weekend!!!

I'm not going to complain that I did not get tickets to either MSG show (and I did not). I understand that 10C does not have enough tickets for all of us. But, please, next time, fix the system so you can put us out of our misery after thirty minutes or so.All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.0 -
peaceful wrote:You said it all. I, too, spent over 6 hours. I'm just done. No band is worth this amount of aggravation.
This is exactly the problem. I would have no problem getting shut out if the process went smooth and the tix sold out in 5 minutes, but it's the site speed, crashing, timing out, that is the frustrating part.0 -
I think the longest I've ever sat at one time and tried for tickets was maybe a little over an hour and it is extremely stressful. After that I give up, my time IS worth more than that. I can't say I haven't checked back after a few hours, just in case, but sat at the computer for an extremely lengthy period of time (6 hours), no way.
And I must say, since I'm not doing this tour, I was relieved not to have to deal with that this week.
Have to agree, something needs to change.Don't come closer or I'll have to go0 -
I understand the frustration of those who tried for hours to get tickets and then came up empty handed. However, back in the day (at the risk of sounding old), we had to sleep out for tickets regardless of weather, safety, or fan club membership and then, still did not get tickets to the show. So when you are feeling frustrated at ticketing process of this day and age, just remember it used to be a LOT worse. It's nice to be nice to the nice.0

There are difficult markets, and not so difficult markets so your situation is specific to the show you want to go to, and not a money making scheme. Boston, NY, and DC will all be this way due to the volume of tickets versus number of fans. There’s not a whole lot we can do about that. The server did not crash. really you have a problem with this? they have clearly answered the questions asked - and tried to explain what the problem was....and told you not to renew if you dont feel satisfied.
In a nutshell....what is wrong with this? Is it because they didnt climb down and hand you the lottery tickets as compensation?

Shove it you self-righteous turd. You think you're going to score some brownie points with the band standing up for them like this. Are they going to read your post and think to themselves..."man, this guy gets us. Let's invite him to party after the show!" I agree, if you don't like it, than don't participate. But to call people "whiners" because they are speaking out against a clearly flawed process. Do you call your beloved Eddie a whiner when he rambles in the middle of shows about shit that nobody actually cares about. Don't get me wrong. I love the band and their music, but it just seems that over the past couple of years they have done some things that goes against what we all thought they were about. For example, putting their most loyal fans through this ticket ordeal. Or how about how they now add a service charge to their ticket prices!(the irony of that is unbearable) Why exactly does it now cost $150-$173 to attend a PJ show? I remember not too long ago when it was $70-$100. Not to mention the added cost of being forced to travel to BFN to see them because you couldn't get tickets to your local show. I personally could do without the string quartet or even Boom, if this sort of stuff is what's making the ticket costs soar. There used to be a benefit of being a Ten Club member. Plus, it definitely didn't cost $20 a year. And for what really?!? What have we really had better/more access to over the past couple of years that non-club fans have had. The last show I went to I was surrounded by non-club fans. It's not that the seats were bad, but if they were able to get the same seats for the same price(less of course the money I paid for the 10 club), wtf? And to the band and the people running this ticket racket, i have one thing WTF!?!?
Firstly, why on earth do you feel the need to insult someone in the first line of your post for having an opinion?
Secondly, the cost of living is higher now. As much as you'd like it to be, it isn't 1991, 1998 or even 2002. Shows cost more.
Pearl Jam cannot put on a show in every single state in the US; They have families to think about. Travel for fans is a necessary evil.
Non-Tenclub people should be able to go to shows too. Seeing PJ isn't an exclusive club. We get plenty of things non-members don't - early entry, the forums, Deep and the holiday single; what more do you want for $20?
Every person who attempted to get tickets were signed up Tenclub members, they all logged on when told to and all tried for the same tickets... Everybody had an equal chance. As it's been pointed out, demand is higher than supply... It was inevitable that people lost out. No one ever said that getting fanclub tickets would be easy... Besides, there's always general sale.
And before you call me an ass kisser or something else equally as insulting, I'm european, i've faught for Dublin tickets for hours on end, I renew my membership every year, I don't bitch if they only do US shows and i'm even travelling to different countries to see the band I love. Now, if i'd lost out, it wouldn't be the end of the world and I certainly wouldn't be ranting on here like I was owed something. I understand that the ticket system may have flaws but it is what it is.
And finally, for your information, I like string quartets, Boom and I do care about some of the things Eddie talks about during shows. So there.Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...
... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.0 -

"Fix it"? If it were that easy don't you think they would have done that? The reality is that most ticket sales outside of NYC/Philly/Boston go smoothly. It sucks for everyone who tried to get tickets yesterday. I feel for them. But it's not like the 10c is sitting around at some giant oak conference table in an underground bunker trying to figure out ways to f*ck with us. I hated the process getting Philly 05 tickets, it took like 2 hours of refreshing, but that hardly justifies the responses yesterday's presale has generated on this board.
I am embarrassed for the band and my fellow fans by much of what has been posted here over the last 24 hours.0 -

i cant agree with this....their response was perhaps a matter of fact reply...but whats wrong with that? Do you really want a load of flowery customer service bullshit or do you want telling as it is?
I prefer the latter? Can you imagine the level of moaning they had to deal with yesterday? not rational moaning or justified moaning but moaning totally born out of frustration at not getting what those folk want.0 -

hopethatuchoke wrote:I was able to get Muse, Alice in Chains and Thom Yorke Tickets directly from each fan club with no membership dues. The process was very simple for all 3 and there wasn't 5 hours of Temp Out of Stock. Thom and Muse sold out almost immediately and when they were gone, they were gone. I don't understand how it could be so hard to have a server that does that. I understand that there aren't enough tickets for everyone but to make people try for hours to get them is horseshit.
I understand that their is way more demand for Pearl Jam, but I recently got David Gray tickets (front row), without any membership fees.
I guess my point is, if you're going to charge for the fan club, the process should run a little more smoothly.

I am frustrated I spent 4 hours in front of a computer for essentially nothing, but what can I do? I wasnt the only one....I just pray I can get tix to HFD today as I am blowing off some work.
Interesting tidbit: For my daughter, I joined Miley Cyrus's fan club a week before they had a fan club presale through Livenation and was able to see 3 different pairs of seats throughout the venue in my cart before scoring 5th row center seats.....all within 10 minutes
and dont give me shit about hannah montana, it was fro my daughter!Post edited by PatrickBateman onIf a man speaks in a forest and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong?0 -
I have zero problem with the price of the tickets. Every concert in big venues costs more these days. More to run, more to pay unions, more to travel, etc. My beef is with the sheer aggravation of the system itself. It doesn't have to be like that. I love this band and if I didn't, I would just shrug it off and forget about it. Unfortunately, alot of people were not happy with how it went. YES, it is correct to say that the same amount of people won't get tickets, no matter what system is used. HOWEVER, it shouldn't take six hours to come to that truth.------------------------------------------------------------
Too many shows to even begin to remember.

First off, if misspelling privilege with a "d" it in is the worst thing I do today, it will be a pretty good day. I must be insane.
I joined the 10 club because I'm fan of the band, not because I think it's my fucking entitlement to get tickets to a concert.
There's over 70,000 paid members in this club, and guess what, not every member is going to get a ticket through the presale for every concert they want. Deal with it or leave. If the only reason you paid the outrageous $20 a year was so you could get tickets to a concert maybe you should reconsider paying that amount of money to be part of the community.
Did Pearl Jam concerts exist before the internet was invented? Remember the days of getting to a Ticketmaster at 3AM to get in line to buy tickets? Remember, this isn't a ticket service, it's a fan club.
I'd pay $20 a year and smile just to say I'm in the fan club. I don't give a shit if I get tickets to a show, I don't give a shit if my tickets are upstairs, I don't give a shit if I get my Christmas Single on the 4th of July. I love the band, and that’s all I give a shit about.WeBelongTogether wrote:The subject title of this thread is an outright joke. Presales are a "priviledge". L O L. A) Are you insane?it's "privilege"
While no one is guaranteed a ticket... one of the biggest selling points of joining the 10C is for special pre-public sales for tours. That most certainly is not a privilege.
Here is a re-print of the benefits of 10C membership, as presented on this website:
MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
1.Our promise to do our darndest to get you the absolute BEST tickets in the house to Pearl Jam shows around the world.
2.Access to Ten Club members-only merchandise like limited edition silk-screened posters from Pearl Jam tours.
3.A holiday 45 RPM vinyl single with songs not found anywhere else.
4.Pearl Jam's full-color printed DEEP Magazine mailed to you
5.Full access to the Pearl Jam Online Community
6.Members-only contests and giveaways
So you are right in one sense, there is no guarantee of tickets. On the other hand, they are specifically selling you on the premise of access to concert tickets; tickets that are the "best in the house". It's the No. 1 reason for god's sake. And when you pay the $20, and feel that they in turn didn't reciprocate w/ their "darndest" foot forward, for what you already paid for - you have a a RIGHT to be upset.
But to say presales are a privilege? haha. Are you really forking over the $20 for a once-a-year "magazine"? Don't be silly... 10C knows what they are ultimately selling, and its what almost every fan is ultimately buying.Coffee in the Morning, Beer at Night0 -
