TBD TBD TBD

Little suspicious, no?

The Sox will be in the Bronx battling the Yankees that night.

I can dream, can't I?

    No chance.
Game on May 19 at Fenway. They wouldn't have time to break down the stage and get the field ready for play.
If you notice, all the past shows have had a few days buffer both before and after for set up/breakdown.
    This weekend we rock Portland

saw Phish there last summer. It was awesome ! smoked a joint in centerfield, turned around and Youkalis was standing behind me. good times.

+1. PJ has to be in NY in 2 days so they could have a night crew break down the stage overnight and have everything ready to go in 24 hrs for baseball.

I hope Fenway Faithful gets his wish. Fenway in May!!!!

god That pic gives me another reason not to like Youk. Wearing his sunglasses like that. Cant stand him...

Related story, At Greatwoods 98, the quarter incident show. My seats were next to ted Johnson and Teddy Bruschi, and yes I smoked a joint next to Them. I blew the smoke aweay from them hoping not to bother them. .

I've told this story before, but in April 2006, I was on the same flight with Theo Epstein down to Tampa. We were standing next to each other waiting for the tram to the baggage claim, and not wanting to pass up the moment, I struck up a conversation with him about Pearl Jam. This was several months after he notoriously left the team and the park in an ape costume, and went to South America with Ed and the band. I asked him point blank, "Is Pearl Jam ever going to play Fenway?" He replied, "Someday they will". After that encounter, I am confident that one year this will happen. If not May 18th, one day.

Also, there is currently no concert scheduled at Fenway in 2010. Just saying.

I just wanna let you guys know I'm going to be pushing this until the TBD is resolved. This might be the best chance we get for a few years to make this happen and I'm not about to let it slip through the cracks.

Word is that U2 is going to be the Fenway band of choice this summer anyway.

    i just dont get it

i agree it's a stadium made for baseball... and not rock concerts

but would you rather go to a giant stadium where the band will be dwarfed?

    at least it's small

and the cramped seats would be solved by everyone standing and rockin ;)

OK, so I saw a concert there last spring, and my seats were behind home plate. The stage was at center field. I could not have been further away, I couldn't see a fucking thing, even the big screens were teeny tiny from my seat. There's no way I will ever see another show there unless I'm guaranteed good seats.

I'm guessing we probably saw the same show/ shows there last spring, which I am reluctant to admit to & really only went b/c my daughter very much wanted to go... gotta indulge the young ones sometimes. I've seen 3 shows there & each time I left feeling like "why did I just do that again?"

The dealio this year is that U2 has like 2 weeks unscheduled at the end of July, the Sox are on a long road trip at the same time & U2 has yet to announce any New England dates just yet for their tour, so it seems as though the planets are alligning the right way for Bono to talk about for the millionth time how awesome the Paradise use ta be back in the 80s. Can't wait to hear that one again.
