Didn't they have a Lollapalooza in Columbus one year? I think one of my friends mentioned they went there in '97 to see it with Tool, Prodigy, and others.

I think they had it there more than one year. I think you are right about 1997, but I know they had it when it came back in 2003 with Janes, Audioslave, Incubus and QOTSA.

They did indeed play several Lollapaloozas there. I was at a few of them, and one time I even got to see up Courtney Love's skirt...not intentially at all, I'm a girl but I didn't need nor want to see that. She put her foot up on the amp and showed it to the whole crowd!

So nice to see all these Columbus people who are also Pearl Jam fans!!! I really hope this is true!!!

They think this is going to happen.

    Lets hope.

They should just have it at Andyman's Treehouse. ;)

Unfortunately, he has not owned the bar for a few years.

But yes, it would have been cool. They would have some cool people swing by the bar when they were in town. Cake came in after a show one time. John Stewart was in before...Kyle from Tenacious D.

It was a cool place, once.

Live in Cbus, and have my whole life. There has been 2 stations here that have reported this, Radio 106.7 and 99.7 the rock. Tried calling both, can't reach anyone who will confirm or deny. However, have a friend who works for Clear Channel radio, he is looking into this for me. Stay tuned.

I'm hoping all the rumors about this show turn out to be accurate. I think the timing of the SNL appearance would make sense if they are going to announce a small tour this week or next week. The SNL performance will probably help sell tickets.

the biggest thing that puts a little doubt in my mind, is that typically, before a tour they give a little reminder to make sure our 10 club subscriptions are up to date.

with that said, i think those reminders are unnecessary, as we are all big boys and girls here, and we know that we have to be members to have access to the perks of the club, so maybe this time, no reminder is necessary.

Good point. However, they could post the "reminder" on Wednesday, make the announcement on Friday and have ten club tickets on sale next week prior to the public on sale dates.

but i want an announcment today! and then i want tickets! and then i want to win the lottery and be in the front row! and then I want them to play Low Light! I don't think I am asking for too much here.

Article about Veteran's Auditorium in Columbus. Basically, the people that run it are just trying to figure out what to do with it now that the landscape of the area has changed.

I grew up in Columbus as well, but havent been back in about 20 years - it would be cool to get back there for a PJ show. I think the last show i saw in Columbus was Stevie Ray Vaughan in 1989 at Vets (is Vets still there?).

Jeez.....what was my last concert in Ohio???? Possibly Peter Frampton at the OU Convocation Center.

Probably before your time, but I saw some pretty good shows at the Agora on High Street....

Do you know of Rory Gallagher (RIP)? I saw him there. In his Irish Tour '74 DVD, you can see Rory's drummer (or maybe the keyboard player?) wearing an Agora t-shirt.

Anyone in Columbus have any updates on this rumor? It seems to have lost its legs.
  • Options
i emailed the station this am, no response yet. on one hand, it would seem odd that of all cities they would visit on a very limited tour, why columbus? it's true, they haven't been here since 2003, but they seem to always play cleveland and pittsburgh, and even cincy, before c-bus. who knows? nationwide would be a great venue. if i get a reply, i'll immediately post it.

i basically said, "i know you can't tell me what the announcement is, but can you confirm that an announcement of some sort regarding a PJ show in C-Bus is pending? "

Fuck - I really hate to jump on the "Where's the Tour Info" bandwagon, but man...I really don't think it would be too much for 10c just to say "yeah, we're working on something" or "nothing else in the US this spring". I have all my work vacation and family plans in limbo hanging on this (as I am sure many others on here do). I don't expect them to spill the beans on where, when, etc. if they are still trying to work out details, but just let us know if anything is happening.

I haven't lost hope yet. Elton John just announced a date here in Grand Rapids for April 24. That is only about a month and half away. I think they could still announce some dates in early may in the next few weeks. Only time will tell.

If Columbus is rumored, State College is rumored. Thats Ohio State U. and Penn State U., maybe a small college campus tour? Just a thought.

LOL, A Big Ten tour? I think we're getting ahead of ourselves now. But who am I to squash anybody's hopes? I'd road trip to Bloomington, West Laf, Madison, State College. Hell, I'd even go to Ann Arbor, even though she's a total whore.
