At this point I'm more concerned with the Braves in a possible NLDS rematch than the Phillies. Our pitchers just know how to deal with the Phillies hitters. From the starters to the bullpen. Guys like Utley and Howard don't even scare me anymore. Werth was the one guy I feared last October and he's obviously gone. They still have the pitching to beat us in the NLCS. But if they do it will be a 6 or 7 game grudge match with virtually every game being a 3-2 type pitching duel. The Braves on the other hand really put it to us in April. Not to mention they gave us our toughest series last October. If it wasn't for a certain second baseman who couldn't field routine grounders we may not have gotten out of the 1st round.

I agree 100%! Giants pitching owns everyone, yes everyone! I'm a believer that we can beat anyone in a 7 game series. The torturous way we score runs scares me but we have the best bullpen in baseball and arguably (not really an argument) the best starting staff in baseball! Cain and Lincecum pitched in this series like they were in the NLCS again, very impressive! The Phillies are hurt, the Braves are hurt. We are without Posey and Sanchez for the year. I guess we just have to wait and see where everyone is in Sept/Oct.

    Go Giants!

Beltran's biggest contribution was a scary sliding catch in right field on a Jimmy Rollins blooper that helped Tim Lincecum blank the Phillies on three hits for six innings. A lot of hearts stopped when the brace that supports Beltran's arthritic right knee caught the grass and he tumbled forward, leaving a long divot in the grass.

Manager Bruce Bochy admitted he thought the worst. So did Huff, who told himself, "No, he didn't blow out on the first day."

  given the shit we've endured over the years, it wouldn't have surprised me.

Okay, so tonight wasn't so great. But who saw this interview last night? Listen at around 2:00.

Oh, fuck yeah there's another reason we love this team.

never a good thing when you throw zito out, trying to avoid a sweep :?

I kind of saw this coming....take a series from a good team and then lay down for a borderline shitty team. I believe the G's have played pretty crappy against the pads, the cubs and the other bottom feeders this year :x

    I'm so sick of Zito.

Take the $2M per win you've "earned" since sabean's idiotic signing, void the remainder of your contract and go away :x

  • Yeah, let Zito go. When do we get J Sanchez back?

I'm a little worried about the team chemistry with the addition of the new guys. The D Bags are 2 back with 2 months to go. We will see. Hopefully Vogelsong can continue his stellar pitching and someone like Belt can get hot!

very rough. we might not even win the division. we should....but if we can't, they'll have no one to blame but themselves :x

gotta show the d-bags who's boss. I loathe that team....just slightly less than the do**ers.
