how can you be a fan of rock music and not like those two ac/dc albums at least?
For the reasons outlined in the first post of this thread.
so which singer are you refering too in your first post, bon scott or brian johnson? :ugeek: :P

Let's dissect your argument, shall we?
"Their music all sounds the same, their lyrics are just cheap"
- Fair argument. Not much musical growth, they cover the same ground with each new album - booze, women, and rock.
"the singers voice shits me, sounds like he is constipated and is trying to push one out."
- You're speaking of Brian Johnson, the singer since 1980. I always favored the description of gargling with broken glass. His voice has been weaker over the past decade or so, but back in the 80s that dude could screech.
"All repetitive, no moving forward with their music."
- Again, no sane person could dispute this.
"Their music is totally uninspiring and does not provoke any thought other than the thought of them sucking."
- Now HERE's your problem. AC/DC's music asks nothing of you except to sit back and enjoy the ride. You're not trying. If you want something cerebral or thought-provoking, Radiohead's got that covered. But if you can hear the opening riff of "Shoot to Thrill" while driving and not step on the gas a little harder, then you're the one with the problem.
"And their fans are all a bunch of feral tough guy, ute driving, tradesman, bullying type bogans here in Australia who hang around pubs hanging for a fist fight."
- Sweeping generalization, totally pointless.
"One of the biggest bogans (who is a bully to me and others) at my work is a big ACDC fan and went to their show, why does it not surprise me that he is a ACDC fan?"
- Irrelevant unless AC/DC fathered your coworker. This is quite possible given their age.
"And one final thing, the Aussie media should stop labeling them an 'Aussie Band'.
They are born and bred Scots/Englishmen who do not even live in Australia and haven't for years."
- Their media portrayal is not their fault.
"Rant over, fuck you ACDC and your fans."
- And yet you have the gall to complain about a backlash in your thread.
Dude, it's big dumb visceral music designed to make you pump your fist and rock out while having beers with your buddies. There is a place for this in the musical landscape. Does it attract dumb mooks who like to crush beer cans on their foreheads and fight? Absolutely! But you'll see that with any powerful rock band. I've seen two steakheads fighting during Yellow Ledbetter, for goodness sake. I'm not trying to change your mind here, but simply poking holes in your post while sticking up for a band I have enjoyed for 30 years.
Cheers. It is time to admit that we used to rock like hurricanes. It is time to run for the hills and go round and round. It is time for us to shout at the devil. We've got the right to choose it, there ain't no way we'll lose it, and we're not gonna take it anymore.

Excellent post, especially what happens while driving to *Shoot To Thrill*. The OP started out this thread with *I hate AC/DC* then changed it. I think he expected everyone to follow along with his theme and ride the wave despondency of the band. That didn't happen so he appears to have abandoned his thread. There's no pretensions with the band they're who we thought they were.
Some people say we have thirteen albums that all sound the same. That isn't true. We have fourteen albums that all sound the same

Who's contesting whether it's art ot NOT the band themselves will tell you that. They just happen to sell quite a few records and sell out quite a few shows. Nothing more, it's as simple as that.

Horses for courses....
If you want meaningful lyrics and musical invention then go elsewhere.
If you want the greatest hard rock and roll band on the planet - then ACDC are and always will be THE number one choice in my book.
And by the way comparing them to Pearl Jam is a pointless exercise. They are two very different bands and I love them both!0 -
Im not a fan either maybe i would be if i was alive during the bands peakShows:

You have to take them for what their worth.
The same chords, rearranged, with equally cheesy and mindless lyrics each time. They're just cock-rock, nothing special. MAYBE a fun concert, but I wouldn't pay money for it. My friends just recently bought $90 tickets for Vegas. I gladly passed. While it might be a fun show to get drunk at and see tits (good and bad), the price tag just doesn't convince me.
I own Back In Black and Highway To Hell. I only listen to one of them....in a great while.
Don't get too hyped up on them. Spend your energy on a more contaminating band.....like U2

You then come on PJs website to vent your frustrations to a bunch of strangers because you don't have the balls to confront the person who is at the root of the problem. You blame AC/DC because you are to much of a wimp to stand up for yourself, pathetic. There's a word for people like you, pussy. You are a pussy.
