Grateful Dead, since the 70s and all the way up until we lost Jerry.
Now it's just not the same.
Pearl Jam since I first heard them in the very early 90s.
Not the same sort of music, but the same family feeling
peace,

Before PJ I had no favorite band really. I was 35 so in my late twenties early thirties I was listening to all the eighties stuff but also my teen favorites like Zeppelin, Alan Parsons, Joe Cocker, Supertramp, Janis Joplin.
As far as 80's I liked Talking Heads, Madonna, Robert Palmer,McCartney, Chris Isaak, Cher.0 -
born in 80...as a young kid I loved Duran Duran...then got into Beasties and the late 80's hair bands, Poison, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Def Lepard, and some Run DMC. I think that accurately sums up what I was listening to when I was 10We were but stones your light made us stars0

The Smiths
I also think a pj cover of a song such as the queen is dead would be quite interesting...0 -

I'd prob say Public Enemy was my fave at the time.0 -

Midnight Oil, sadly they faded away with some ordinary stuff at the end but still one great band & ever better live. I think PJ took over their mantle as a band to speak out against the very bad things in the world. Let the song protest sums them up i think.Eastern Creek 95,Syd 1 98,Bris 2 98, Syd 1&2 03, Reading Fest 06, Bris 1 06, London 09, Hyde Park 10, Gold Coast BDO 14 Budapest 22 Krakow 22 Amsterdam 22 St Paul 1&2 23 Chicago 1&2 23 Chicago 1&2 24 New York 1 24 Philly 1&2 24 Boston 1&2 24 Gold Coast 24 Melbourne 1 24 Sydney 1&2 240

fave "band" ?
too limiting. there have been many
i've been a fan of all rock music since for as long as i can remember. the only band i stopped liking is the doors...i just cant listen to any doors these days for some weird reason. oh well0 -
My fave band is Led Zep, still. But I discovered them a few years after Pearl Jam emerged.
For a while, Radiohead was probably 2nd. Avocado & Backspacer have brought PJ back to #2.
Ten came out when I was 14.
