Favourite band before you discovered Pearl Jam?

Mine was Metallica. I was a metalhead before PJ/Nirvana/SG/post-Facelift AIC came into my life. Smells Like Teen Spirit and Jeremy changed my life forever.

I always knew I wasn't a "true" metalhead. I liked some of the aggressive music but the silly death imagery didn't appeal to me. PJ and Nirvana were EXACTLY what I was waiting for.

How about you?

The Doors. Should PJ and the Doors have been around at the same time, The Doors would have the advantage.

  • I can't remember that far back. I was 9 when Ten came out and was fortunate to hear it at such a young age...haven't looked back since.

I was a kid a little lost about what kind of music would fit better for me in those days, so before I knew Pearl Jam I considerated LimpBizkit, Korn, Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Well I could only save th RHCP from that list, they're still good.

Grateful Dead, since the 70s and all the way up until we lost Jerry.

Now it's just not the same.

Pearl Jam since I first heard them in the very early 90s.

Not the same sort of music, but the same family feeling :)

Before PJ I had no favorite band really. I was 35 so in my late twenties early thirties I was listening to all the eighties stuff but also my teen favorites like Zeppelin, Alan Parsons, Joe Cocker, Supertramp, Janis Joplin.
As far as 80's I liked Talking Heads, Madonna, Robert Palmer,McCartney, Chris Isaak, Cher.
  • born in 80...as a young kid I loved Duran Duran...then got into Beasties and the late 80's hair bands, Poison, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Def Lepard, and some Run DMC. I think that accurately sums up what I was listening to when I was 10
