It frightens me to think of how many people think he is an "amazing" guitarist. Not a grain of originality and flat out playing-wise he's just not that good. Great at lookin like he plays the blues though.

got the terrible "O" face thing down.......yuck! :?

Geez, he says that he wants the fame, but have any of you ever seen what happens when the papparazzi tries to talk to him? He is so offstandish and acts like he doesn't even want to be known. He acts like they are intruding on him. He is a douche and a fraud.

Exactly! I mean he's probably practised 8 HOURS a Day EVERY SINGLE day for the last 25 years Straight!!!...Anyone with that AMOUNT of practise is bound to be "Half Decent" at the Guitar...HECK! even I could be "Half Decent" with THAT much Practise!...:P

if he came out and said PJ was the greatest band ever, people here would be drooling over his knob. but because he said something mildly, possibly, not really at all negative, everyone gets all up in arms over it.

THANK YOU. My thoughts exactly. Same with magazine and newspaper reviews and people getting bent out of shape over those. You love the writer if he praises them but god forbid they write something bad. I have seen people post some of the nasty, immature emails they have written to some of these journalists. Take offense when someone insults YOU or your family or your pet iguana...not a band you obsess over.

    +1

In the end, it's the music that really matters: you either like it or
you don't. There's nothing to be gained by trashing bands you don't
    like.

All the bands that were on top of the world don't last that long. So it was a good move for PJ to become reclusive when they the biggest band in the world between '92-'95.

I actually didn't like them at first because they so big in '93 without really listening to them. But then Yield came along and I joined on the bandwagon eventhough a lot of fans were already jumping off of it. LOL

    Um...not okay.

sorry but jack johnson just does not interest me at all. Bannana Pancakes? hahahahaa
that is just as fluffy and poppy as John Mayer.

I should have clarified the above by saying
John Mayer Trio > Jack Johnson

the john mayer trio is some solid blues rock. great guitar work in a classic power trio. check it out before you bash it.

  • Great comparison to Jack Johnson. People around here like Jack because Eddie has played with him but come on...Bubble Toes? All he does is play different variations of the same 5 chords on an acoustic guitar but he must be amazing if Ed likes him.

  • Does the Truth hurt people on here? It is a commonly known fact thatr Ed micro managed and manipulated the bands image and lied about his background and hid his experience in the "rock" business. To the point that for my entire twenties there were no shows to go to so What is so wrong with a very respected and talented artist like John Mayer telling rolling stone like it is.

that's what i was going to point out but didn't feel like typing it. because why should i bother? if you want to hate JM why should i care?

i can still hear my mom now,
why does he always stare at the floor? and he always has his hair in his face.
