John Mayer is a total moron, that interview is all the evidence you need. And I'm not talking about what he said about Pearl Jam. Too bad since he is a talented guitar player, though he writes sappy ass lyrics.

i've always understood him to be a big PJ fan, that he loves them. a fan is entitled to disagree with some things their fave band might say or do....no? :)

    crazy talk........;)
don't be talking sensibly here - there's no place for that!

:D I know, I know, low post count. I've been trying to post a little more lately so that when I do actually post something I don't get this reaction. ;)

Overhyped? You ever heard him shred? Guy is an amazing guitar player

My friend likes Mayer and always talks up his guitar playing too. Here's the thing....yes, he's a very good guitarist. But if I want to hear the blues, I'll listen to Stevie Ray Vaughn or something like that because Mayer's voice sounds like Dave Matthews with Downs Syndrome.

  • They did give their fame back ya douche-bag!
  • John Mayer is a great guitar player and a great singer, but he is just so damn full of himself and says a lot of things that are really unnecessary, from what I've seen and read in interviews. If he just played shows and sang his songs and never said a word outside of that, maybe I'd like him.

    And by the way:

It frightens me to think of how many people think he is an "amazing" guitarist. Not a grain of originality and flat out playing-wise he's just not that good. Great at lookin like he plays the blues though.
  • if he came out and said PJ was the greatest band ever, people here would be drooling over his knob. but because he said something mildly, possibly, not really at all negative, everyone gets all up in arms over it.
