you know, does the lead in really matter? maybe for the news it's important, but come 11:35 you are going to flip to the show you find more entertaining. people know letterman and conan and a lot of other shit is on at that hour. if they want to watch a late night talk show, they know they have conan and letterman to choose from and they know where to find both and they know which one they generally find more entertaining. Conan was not the answer. it's that simple.

Then why didn't Dave take over the top spot the last 4 or 5 years, CBS seems to have the best lead in for the last few years. How long have they been number 1 for? NBC hasn't been number 1 since early 2000's.

i dont feel sorry for any of them, but saying Conan got lower ratings is a huge oversimplification. there are many reasons for that.

They all queue up and watch Conan on their ipods, they all talk conan, they all have conan tshirts on! Good Stuff!

i was paraphrasing what leno said the other night about wanting people to not "blame conan"--as ridiculous as that sounds. letterman put it best when he noted that NOBODY is blaming conan, they're blaming jay.

Then why would NBC not just let Leno go. After they pulled him off the tonight they could have kept him off the air for 18 months. I still think if they gave him the same time frame as Conan (7 months) he would have left, 18 months thats a long time off the air.
As far as blame, ultimately NBC is at fault and only time will tell if they made the correct decision.

What's really funny about this whole situation...is that Leno is just not funny....In fact he is the furthest thing from funny and I hope his show sucks balls.
Tonights final show was great. I really enjoyed it. Conan was very sincere and he thanked NBC for the last 20 some odd years he's had with them. Conan really looked happy when he took off his tie and picked up that guitar.
I could have done with out Will Farrells hokey act but as along as Conan enjoyed it........
Yeah, that was Billy Gibbons from ZZTop but I can't for the life of me place that girl that will farrell was making out with (was that really necessary?) All in good fun.
