i don't dislike sg but it just isn't my thing...never been a fan of cornell's voice...but if they play coachella i'll check them out

Recorded stuff, yeah, Soundgarden is great...lyrical depth and live I give it to PJ any day of the week. Not saying that SG can't hold its own, but yeah.

well depends how many times you seen soundgarden live? or how many shows you have heard?

yeah okay they dont play 2 hour and 10 minute shows but their shows are a good 1 hour 30 at least not to mention they dont have as many songs pearl jam do now as they havent been around.

I have, in all honesty, seen Pearl Jam live a few more times than Soundgarden. SG was my first "obsessive" band back as a kid. My first concert was SG with Screaming Trees opening at a show in Seattle. That said, Cornell was out of tune quite a bit...as he was most of the time.

I have seen him a good 3-4 times during his solo runs...sounded great there, even though his range has diminished.

When it comes to live music, I would rather watch McCready go off over Thayil, and I prefer Eddie's howls and phrasing over Cornells vocals.

Why all the calls for them to tour together? I really hope that doesn't happen. I saw SG live 3 or 4 times and it's a completely vibe to Pearl Jam. I'd much rather see a Pearl Jam show and a separate Soundgarden show, they're completely different experiences.

Besides, do you really think they'd get back together just to be a support act?!?

I agree. When this started taking shape, i am sure the guys in PJ were well aware and supportive of a Soundgarden reunion. They were just as big of fans of that band as we all are.

Again, there has always been one incredible love fest between the two bands (PJ and SG). And now that they share the same drummer, I am sure this bond will only strengthen between the two groups.

Brisk, sounds like you've been given some bad ganja from that statement. Soundgarden is ok but nowhere near the caliber of PJ, IMO. It probably has more to do with me disliking Cornell's attitude and actions rather than the band itself. Apparently he wasn't/isn't as good as HE thought he was/is as a solo artist. He may be a nice guy but it came off prickish when he dumped the other guys to solo it. That said I hope they have a good tour but I'm passing on them.

Euphoria morning is a flawless album so no doubt he can make a solo record.. Carry On and Scream are shit but if you have listened to "Two Drink Minimum" he can still make them as good as he ever has done.

Just think too many people on this board are blind and think pearl jam is god but it is a pearl jam forum right?

I saw the final days of Soundgarden, they rocked but you could tell something wasn't right. Does one show constitute a reunion or will it be a full blown tour. Matt will need a rest so i dont expect to much touring after 2010. Doubt i will make it for those who do have a great time.
